Despite his arrest I think it would still be his right as chieftain of the Tauren or would that be a trope that even Blizzard is weary of invoking?
No one can beat Sylvanas in a duel, heck she even stood toe to toe with Azeroth greatest demi god druid. What chance does Saurfang or Baine has?
As much as any other leader has toppling another. I’d rather put all this internal nonsense to rest than leaving everyone doubtful and unfocused in a war that could decide the Hordes fate on Azeroth.
But I suppose that makes too much sense. Doesn’t it?
Going all out 100% that is true. Sylvanas doesn’t even need to go out 100% to beat them because warriors suck in duels. Baine might have a chance if he grapples her and tears her in half, but she’ll go banshee form and win. However that is considered cheating to which Sylvanas would probably dismantle Mok’gora pointing it out that it gives a complete edge to one party and not the other if one party is handcuffed.
Hell she might start with refusing and pointing out the flaws of Mok’gora and remove it forever because that’s what she can do.
Edit: As pointed out by Carmageddon Mak’gora rules are vague and can change from duelist to duelist. Magic is not forbidden and that is a common misconception. Which is amplified by the movie which is non-canon
Well do people have to accept the challenge? It’d be easy enough and completely justifiable to wave him off by saying “traitors don’t get to choose the direction of the Horde.”
Others could fight for him, vouching for his character.
Wouldn’t she just use poison? The one she was going to use on Garrosh was undetectable.
That’s not the issue, the issue is the Mak’gora. Saurfang realized that he didn’t want to commit suicide as much as he thought, an honorable duel to the death is all the way off the table. Baine would never consider facing Sylvanas face to face, its not no where near his radar, that notion also all the way off the table.
The best thing Baine can do is go behind the Warchief’s back and help the Alliance, heck even protecting his people is off the table.

Then he is a coward and deserves his fate.
Baine most likely remembers the last mak’gora between Garrosh and Cairne, its aftermath, and how it caused political upheaval amongst his people with Magatha’s usurpation, and doesn’t think it is worth the risk right now. Remember, Sylvanas still has a loyal following. With them at war with the Alliance, a divide between the Horde could pry it apart from the foundation.
And cause another death in the Horde? Plsno
There doesn’t need to be a death. Merely a dialogue that exists through combat. If there is any foul play then the faction was too weak to defend itself anyway.
Ironically she doesn’t need to cheat to beat either of them in single hand combat.
Basically this, Baine and Saurfang want Sylvanas out and gone. a Mok’gora could backfire just like it did with Cairne and Garrosh. The only way to remove Sylvanas is sadly basically by the Alliance. It is even questionable if Thrall can beat Sylvanas at this point since he is depowered, and she seems empowered. Mok’gora isn’t clear cut and dry, if they lose that can just as easily tighten Sylvanas’ grip on the Horde. They both do not want that, and again want her gone.
I wish this could be solved internally without Alliance help and avoid MoP 2.0 Undead Boogaloo, but that really can’t happen. Also shows how inept we are, weak we are, and increase chance of being absorbed into the Alliance we are.
Sylvanas is getting crushed by baine in hand to hand don’t kid yourself
Didn’t Blizz say something along the lines of Saurfang + Banduin = a fair fight for Sylvanas.
There is something that everyone would die for, apparently dueling Sylvanas isn’t that thing.
Unfortunately that isn’t how Mak’goras work.
Yes but that is how “single hand combat” works
I thought single hand combat was a duel with your weapon of choice, and hand to hand = no weapons.
In either case no one can beat Sylvanas with a bow.
You mean Saurfang, who casually tanked three arrows to the chest, can’t beat Sylvanas with a bow
Surrrre
Apparently he doesn’t think he can take her or he would of instead of hoping the alliance would do it for him.
