Hello, I was hoping I could get some information about rogue hit cap. I’ve seen various people on forums/guides give different numbers and want to get some solid sources so I can figure out which is the actual correct answer.
I’ve heard both 8% (9-1% from weapon skill 305 avoiding penalty), 6% (9-1% from weapon skill 305 avoiding penalty -2% additional from hidden weapons kill bonuses).
For instance, Oto’s guide seems to have it at the 8% hit req. i understand Oto’s was made a while back and on a private server.
Alternatively, I’ve seen people recently on forums post things like the following:
“Hit cap is 9%… but 6% with +5 weapon skill and makes your miss rate on a 63 mob 6%. You get a hidden .4% hit per weapon skill point added for the first 5 points over cap, and don’t have the 1% penalty from being more than 10 levels difference between mob defense and your weapon skill. So 9% to miss - 1% penalty - 2% to hit = 6% to miss with 5 weapon skill.”
but I can’t find any actual sources to back up the extra 2% hit to bring the total needed down to 6%. The blue post a while back about beta seems to say 9%-1%=8%, so I know 8% is for sure acceptable instead of 9, but I just wanted to see if anyone had sources for 6%.

Have you tried the Rogue Discord? The Discords are usually more in depth.
Not too sure man. I just gank people who are at a quarter health followed by /loling at their body.

Note 310 line on the table = 305 weapon skill
Rogues get their hitcap lowered from 9% to 6% with 305 skill, and get an additional 5% hit from talents, which means they only need 1% hit to be hitcapped for yellow hits. They’ll still want more hit, obviously.

im asking why does 305 drop it form 9 to 6 not 9 to 8?

OK there has been no official blue source about hit cap and the only official post was about the secret 1% hit suppression of mobs +3 higher, as in they would ignore 1% of your hit chance (not that you had an extra 1% chance to miss).
So hit cap for main hand is 9% (8% miss + 1% hit suppression vs 63 boss or things with a defence skill >10 levels higher than your weapon skill)
Through vigorous testing by members of the community, they have reverse engineered the formula’s such that a magic event happens when you reach 305 weapon skill… the miss chance per defence difference drops from .2% to .1% and the supression chance goes away.
So you only need 6% to cap main hand @305… @304 weapon skill hit cap is 8.2% (7.2% miss + 1% suppression).
Weapon skill also effects glancing blows… but you have specifically asked about hit so I will leave that for another time.
