So Syl killed LK and then this whole new world on top opened up, what is that world supposed to be and what is her end goal?
Sylvanas didn’t kill the Lich King. She destroyed the Helm of Domination to shatter the veil between the living, “material” plane and the Shadowlands, the land where mortals go when they die. She’s working on behalf of the Jailer, the entity seen prominently in the gameplay trailer.
That world is the Shadowlands. It’s the universal afterlife most souls go to when they die. The Lich King’s Helm of Domination was a powerful link between the Shadowlands and the living world. When she broke it the energy ripped open a hole between the dimensions.
We still don’t actually know her end goal. But she’s allied herself with the Jailor and drawing her new powers from him. They’re working together towards something unknown.
She trounced him, but you can clearly see he’s neither dead nor dying in the cinematic.
We also already know that he’s going to be raising new DKs in Shadowlands…which I’m actually curious how he’s doing that without the Helm of Domination to give him Ner’zhul’s powers.
While she didn’t kill Bolvar, none of this makes any sense. Before she even broke the Helm of Domination, dead souls were already going directly into the Maw. She didn’t cause that. It’s all so ludicrous and ad hoc.
I really hope the expansion has some explanations for any of this. Sylvanas has always feared death yet now she’s fine with working with death and being in the Maw. None of it makes any sense.
Theyre making azeroth great again. Hail the banshee queen!!!
She didn’t kill him, he will be aiding us in Shadowlands.
Lich King is dead, yes, which is why the Scourge will run rampant in the patch events leading up to Expansion 8, but Bolvar Fordragon is very much alive and he will guide us to the Shadowlands.
He’s not dead dead yet, he didn’t get on the cart.
I was wondering about this too, maybe something new and different will be created in the shadowlands to control the undead ?
Bring out yer dead!
Sylvanas didn’t kill the Lich King, she layed him off as his current position was no longer necessary.
Nah she did it after defeating him and Invincible didn’t drop, we all been there.
This right here is why I have no faith in the community’s interpretations of that cinematic.
You know they show this pretty well in Hell Raiser the movie the city of the dead is upside down when compared to the living waking world.
In dreams we see the numbers 666 when in fact it is more like 999.
I thought it was said that he knew Sylvanas was coming and it was an effort to stop her. So it would be before he lost.
Could be wrong though.
It’s a logical determination that he knew she was coming, based off of what we know about Bolvar and how he seems to know things are going to happen and he prepares for them. This was prevalent throughout Legion.
He also raises new DKs prior to 9.0, which is prior to when she breaks the helm.
So he knows she’s coming, maybe even thought it’d be with an army, but sends his DKs and The Four Horseman off. Why? How does that demonstrate being prepared?
interesting fact, numbers and words in dreams are always upside down, backwards, and or the books are just blank, apparently the subconscious human mind is illiterate .
