im aware that most pet skills are taught by taming creatures that already know the ability, however, ive tried taming dozens of different types of boars by now and literally none of them had Charged learned. am i missing something here?
Are you talking classic or retail Wow?
im playing classic
It depends on which classic game it is that you’re playing ofc, but if you’re talking about Wrath classic, then Charge isn’t learned by taming a pet that has it by default. In Wrath classic, your pets, when you tame them, come with their own set of talent “trees”. Ferocity + Tenacity pets have Charge available as a talent option in their respective trees. Cunning does not have Charge as an option.
You can see in this link what talents there are in each tree, along with what families belong to each tree: https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/pet-talent-calc
You can also check this link for info regarding changes going from the TBC pet system into Wrath: https://www.wow-petopia.com/classic_lk/differences.php
Having said that, if you’re playing the pre-wotlk era, then see this link for which boars there are that come with Charge: https://www.wow-petopia.com/classic/abilities.php#charge
Some pets dont have abilities, make sure you beast lore them. But if they do have something you have to keep the pet and have them attack and I think use the ability a few times for you to learn it. Once you see a notification in your chat that says you learned it you can abandon the pet.
