Can a paladin explain to me what abilities are being used in such a short period of time to kill me

Not calling for a direct pally nerf, not a flame post here. I just want to understand how they are fitting all the burst in a short window. Are abilities off the GCD or something. What is the big poppa pump burst rotation.

Seal Twisting with a Judgement tossed in probably.

It would do you a lot of good to actually rank up from Sergeant and use actual PVP gear

I think avengers shield is tossed in there with something else… The damage in the hoj stun window is pretty impressive

AS is mostly used as a slow and gap closer. Your major burst comes from a good seal twist + judgement. Crusader Strike and DS both hit decently chunky. Exorcism crits are also beefy.

They have a lot of hard hitting abilities but the only thing off GCD is Judgement.

When you stop averaging less than 100 dps in pvp and dual wielding you will be more competitive against any class ur up against. I’ve killed you numerous times while your on your mount with just a twist and judge…

Seal Twist either Righteousness (for guaranteed damage) or SoC with Martyrdom.

Followed up by Judgement with possible T1 6p, which might judge both active seals; haven’t checked and can’t be arsed to figure out a decent search term criteria.

Finished with Exorcism.

That should be around 3k damage with no crits. With the biggest damage component being Judgement and Exorcism. - Auto attack+Seal 1+ Seal 2 (Twisted)+Judgement+Exo.

If you’re still alive, CS and Hammer of Bonk (Wrath) will finish you off.

If they got prep time, they’ll also have Wings active for this entire thing.

Your best defense is to probably run Holy Protection pots at all time.

This is exactly what I was looking for, ty… Just got into playing sod, have not played pally since wrath.

You know a class needs nerfs when the best defense is to use overpriced consumes.

I wonder if they’re going to create a ā€œGreater Holy Protectionā€ potion at some point.
I think it’s the only school without a ā€œGreaterā€ version.

I mean, they don’t really need to ā€˜create it’.

It was just never made available until later (apparently Cata if the comment is right).

We don’t use SoR much but command as it’s not so much the seal damage but the Judgement ones you want to amp.

If you go max burst atm as ret you play 6/8 T1 bonus in order to seal stack (you can have 2 seals active for 6 seconds) and 2/8 bonus T2 (+20%damage on judgement).

You basically pre-load your 2 seals and go Crusader strike + auto + X amounts of seal procs betwen Command and Martyrdom + Judgement of both seals. All of that happens in one GCD.

Then it’s all up to RNG, if you have Wild Strikes active or run with Hand of Justice to proc more autos etc. It can get pretty nasty if everything procs and crit.

Don’t worry, I gave up retail and started playing SoD yesterday.

Paladins will be nerfed as soon as I hit level 40 or so…

Aren’t judgements off the gcd now too? Because reasons.

There’s only one Judgement ability and yeah it’s off GCD like it was in Vanilla.
