I, personally, firmly believe that the actual devs are not involved the in the decision making. (Or at least I like to believe that). And such happens in any work environment. A gang of senior managers sit together sipping on Shirley Temple making tsuch absurd decisions and just sending out memo’s to staff.
I am sure lot will appreciate some insight on that.
Because I see that that their asset design team is absolutely amazing and really talented. Level designs are awesome as well. A lot of recent decisions just feel very political and shareholder oriented. I get it, it’s a business. A rather profitable one. But we gotta at least meet half way, don’t you think?
This is quite well known that the decisions are not being made by the devs.
Very few devs have creative control. Anyone who thinks “devs” make every single decision is clearly ignorant of how a company works.
You don’t always allow your grunt workers to make decisions or design decisions.

Which, to be fair, is pretty understandable. It shouldn’t be on random devs to risk their livelihood to tell us what’s going on in the game. That should be something the community managers are doing.
Didn’t Xelnath get fired all those years ago for giving us a tiny glimpse of the horrendous and political process involved during class balancing inside Blizzard? Yeah, I doubt anyone who values their income is going to go out and tell us about all the rotten stuff.
Not hard to know how it works on the inside at blizzards …

- Imagine those who make the decisions being friends with the CEO in real life
- Imagine the employees are the rest of us , trying to make this game good with all our different ideas and vision and having to make these go through the above.
Basically what goes on at blizzard , they’re just humans afterall.
Pretty sure they do biased decisions based on their preference for X . All while trying to keep a semblance of impartiality .
I doubt they could post anonymously here and keep their professional composure. Well, except the lead dev. He’s probably got 98% of us on ignore except the mvps and whatever Humanbeak writes.

No they can’t. They all sign NDA’s.
There’s no conspiracy.
Management has a vision for the game.
Devs implement that vision.
Some of us disagree with that vision, either partially or wholly.
That’s all there is to it.
No one’s planning to “kill wow,” I doubt there’s any actual spite towards players. At worst it’s misunderstanding and maybe bad design (again, depending on opinions) but I highly doubt claims of actual malice.
