Can a clicker heal?

ElvUI+Clique, you should be fine.

I don’t think I’ve ever met somebody like this who wasn’t a burden. Like, you can get away with not using addons and stuff, but anybody that’s broadcasting it to other people is a :triangular_flag_on_post:

If you’re clicking in 2022, stick to solo content.

for normal raids? yes
for m+ up to 15’s? yes
for pvp up to 1800’ish? yes

for heroic/mythic raids? no
for m+ above 20’s? no
for pvp above 2100? no

You can do hybrid stuff to. My suggestion is to get a razor naga 12 button mouse. Put all you main spells on your bar 12345etc and use mouse. Click the other stuff. Get a good ui. Raid bars or something. When using razor naga a mouse over raid setup is ideal. Ez pz even an old timer like me can do it u can too

I thought the same thing initially. I was sure he was just going to hold us back and waste everyone’s time early in the tier. But a couple weeks later I had to shut up and eat crow cause somehow the guy was just GOOD. After I saw how good he was I started inviting him to key groups and things and aside from being inexplicably good at healing while also clicking, he was a real stand up guy too. Made me feel like a jerk for being so judgmental right from the start.

So while clicking might be the path of most resistance for someone who wants to heal, its absolutely doable.

I messed around with a healer in low level dungeons. I had macros for each party member. What I did NOT do is select a frame at top and then go down to a heal command. I would click on a macro like “/cast [target=party2] flash heal” and I also had short health bars for party members above their macros.

This. Although I haven’t used Vuhdo; I have used Healbot back in the day, and I used to main heal progression raiding in ICC by clicking and using Healbot.

I have been a click Healer and Tank since 1999 starting in Ever Quest, Ever Quest ][, World of Warcraft and Star Wars: The Old Republic. I use a standard keyboard and two button mouse for my controllers and have no problem healing up to Heroic dungeons and raids. I have not tried Mythic since that doesn’t interest me so I don’t know if I would be able to compete as a clicker on that level.

Even when I use to be a competitive player in some online flight simulator games, I tended to out compete the people with automated systems and macros because of pure skill alone. So yes, you can still be one, abet maybe not the best unless you bring years of skills with you. Play how you want and adapt what you need to be the best you can.

There was a glad shadow priest player that was a clicker last season. I couldn’t believe someone would become a gladiator clicking but its possible. I imagine someone can even do keys higher than 20 and mythic raids clicking too. Some people are good at clicking and some people aren’t

Definitely
If I were you I’d download healbot ! It’ll work for your click style and is nice for group content

As long as you can click fast enough to get in between the GCDs and not miss out on an HPS or DPS or interrupts, buffs, debuffs, then it is fine.

All my shamans are keybound. This paladin is. But sometimes click when doing super casual stuff. A low level quest or dungeon for a mog run doesnt require binds.

This is why I stopped running dungeons and raids when I came back to WoW before Shadowlands. People where rushing through the content so fast it wasn’t allowing me to regenerate mana and such from pull to pull so I decided I would rather solo in the game then jeopardize someone else’s time and key.

I played a resto shaman for a long time, and people found it strange I didn’t use any add-ons or key binds and clicked everything and was usually more efficient them others that used the programs. This expansion I went totally solo, stay out of group content to not ruin their game time and mostly play an Enhancement shaman. It just comes down to how much time you put into a character know your surroundings and what each encounter might bring.

This. I haven’t gotten Slimecat yet because of getting declined for groups even though my main is 268 Ilvl. I have a Boomkin Druid that I am seriously considering speccing into Resto, setting up Healbot and see if I can get into some normals as a Healer with a set of 226 ZM gear.

U can, but gonna be hard and you gonna need a lot of small automations to move/guide you to who needs what, but honestly, it’s likely easier to learn to not be a clicker than to configured all that an be a good healer.
Also, Monks(haven’t healed in some time) have more non target healing skills, which would be easier.
Also, you could bind most of the skills to a mouse if you got a 8+ buttons if the goal isn’t exactly to be full click, but to minimize to one hand.
For instance, keep the 2~3 most needed skills in some buttons and 1~2 most critical CDs.

It’s possible if youre fast/accurate with your clicks and practice a ridiculous amount but don’t do it if you want an enjoyable experience. There are successful clickers in pvp but they are very far and few and exceptional (and even they still occasionally clip the edge of the action bar and die without using their defensive or trinket too late)

In pve its probably fine to click to heal as long as it’s not at difficulty levels where people can die to mechanics and basic boss abilities in less time than it takes for you to move mouse to frame, move mouse to action bar, stop looking at your screen, click action button, look back at your screen and dodge whatever thing is happening then click on another party frame and repeat

Can start with a 2 button mouse where you bind 2-6 spells, and once you’re comfortable get a 12 button mouse and suddenly you have access to 60 keybinds if you want to. I always disliked keyboard binds personally. Just having your two or three primary spells keybounded makes an insane difference

The game moved at slug pace back then compared to now and only required time investment. You are going to be at a disadvantage against the majority of people you face in pvp now if you don’t have binds

I use Vuhdo and it works fine

If you’re healing and having to click the party frames and then going down and clicking spells too, I can see how that would be inefficient

you can. But you’re limiting your playstyle such that your reaction time will be abysmal. Especially since healing you need to be reactive and proactive at the same time.
