Can’t use exotic pets as a Hunter?

So much for the class fantasy lol

Well what about DKs? I mean you suddenly lose the mental understanding how to carry a 2H just because you spec change from blood to unholy or frost

Are you BM spec? you have to be BM to tame/run the special pets.

side note of if going special pet punting, it can be best to do it naked (for the game char lol). Some low level specials will be one shots to even “crap” procs on gear. take crap gear.

Some poster about a month back posted a tale of woe about a proc killing their prize in the taming.

Felt bad for them…I am still at the finding the damn thing part. to see it die to a proc…man that has to hurt.

Exotic Pets requirements are Beast Mastery and a minimum of level 65.

Yep, why do I have to be forced into a spec to run around with a cool pet of my choosing, a hunter should be able to use whatever pet has been tamed. Hunter is a hunter.

Because a master of beasts knows how to tame stranger and more exotic beasts than the others.

Why are we feeding low effort Wednesday trolls?

Meh, sounds good though, just give the master of beasts the extra pet abilities but not be the only hunter spec to use them

Because it is boring in game and we got nothing better to do.

Why do I have to use melee weapons as a monk for DPS, Monks in all histories, real world, medieval to fantasy (tv shows and games) have monks who specialize in archers. It breaks my immersion that my monk cant fire off an Aime Shot and then use Flying serpent kick and race my own attack to the enemy target.

I don’t care, it is still sad, you are a hunter, why not allow for the use of any pet you were able to catch back in the days. But what ever, Blizz will Blizz

You’re answering a nearly 5 year old thread. And you can do it. Just go Beastmaster

If you caught it you were a beastmaster at the time.

I wouldn’t really call myself a “lore advocate”. I’m more into the “RPG” aspect of the game.

That being said, I don’t think all hunters should tame whatever pet they please. “RPG” wise, it makes sense for a beast master hunter to be able to tame the exotic beasts, as their specialization caters to that.

The same way marksmen hunters are more of your “sniper”, if you will. And, I really miss the days of ranged survival hunters and luring (from range) enemies into my traps (since, survival, back in the day, was all about the traps). Now, I guess survival hunters is the “melee” hunter. Marksmen for “ranged” & beast master as the one who masters the beasts.

One thing that irked me, not sure if it still exists, anymore, was still needing a book to tame to the direhorns (https://www.wow-petopia.com/family.php?id=direhorn). Even though, I’m a beast master hunter, I still needed to learn to tame this beast, along with the other hunters via marksmen & survival being to able to tame these same beasts, as long as they read the book. IDK if that still exists or not. Though, according to Petopia (https://www.wow-petopia.com/index.php), I guess it still exist

Really, those pets should be reserved for beast master hunters. But, those are “unique” pets for any hunter to have, as long as you read the books or whatever.

Just Blizz flushing “RPG” down the drain, as always

You can tame the pet frost trapped. A very old friend hunter Jadespell taught me that trick ages ago
