Why can’t I understand the Alliance faction when we speak
Alliance, by default, speak Common (English) while Horde speak Orcish, though each race also has its own language, and there are some mechanics around that like Elixir of Tongues
That’s the in-game, role-playing reason.
The game-based, practical reason is so that the factions can’t insult each other, especially in PvP, building up aggression that may become toxic.
