So. Is anyone able to steer their character with the right mouse button set to the bottom right on their trackpad. If so. How?
I have right click set to bottom right on track pad. There appears to be problems with the mac track pad. Basically if you left click and drag and the right click doesn’t work.
I tried this and can replicate it on the MacBook Pro desktop. Basically drag a blue box on the desktop and then right click. No menu pops up.
I believe this is the issue with the right click steering in WoW.
I have gone as far as spent 2-3 hours with Apple tech support. No luck at all.
I have gone to the Apple Store. Employees say it’s a bug and wait for apple to fix. I also tested it on 3 other ventures on display at the Apple Store.
This problem doesn’t happen on last years model MacBook Pro. Or any other previous. I’ve played WoW with a trackpad since either the game came out or trackpads came out.
Anyone else having this issue?
Anyone else able to replicate this issue in-game?
I’m not 100% sure this but is related to steering in WoW but I have tried every single other troubleshooting in WoW.
Reinstall. Deleting folders. No addons. Fstack. Etrace. Various commands. Etc etc.
Other note. Tried this on a brand new laptop. Brand new install. Twice. Two separate laptops (I returned the other thinking it was a hardware bug).
This unfortunately makes WoW unplayable for me on my MacBook Pro trackpad.

Maybe I’m not understanding your problem.
However, a “Right” mouse click is the default method for interacting with all things in WoW. You can’t use a single “right” click to steer. Also holding down the right mouse button controls the camera.
The default for moving and steering is to hold down both mouse buttons. If this is what you are trying to duplicate, you have to assign “Move and Steer” to whatever key you have assigned to the bottom right track pad button. This should be something other than “Right Click”
Thanks for replying.
For the past decade, if I have auto run on or am pressing ‘w’ to run and then hold down right mouse button it moves the camera and the character in a direction. This is how I’ve always moved my character.
With the new operating system/macbook pros… it will work but only for about 1 second and then it breaks. I can do it fine on my old macbook pro. It’s not possible to steer a character with the trackpad on the new mac OS.
Sometimes it won’t steer at all as you have to move the mouse before right clicking.
This is noticeable in finder as well. If I drag to select a lot of files and then immediately right click without moving the mouse the right click won’t trigger a menu - it will just do nothing - which I believe is the same issue. Which makes it hard to even copy files on a mac with the trackpad.
Example of that bug here:
I am right clicking in the video after selecting on the desktop. As you can see, if i select THEN move the mouse, right click works. If I don’t move the mouse after selecting - it doesn’t work.
It’s unrelated to the keybindings.
I have tested this out on other macs at the apple store. Same problem. ‘Geniuses’ said ‘don’t buy the laptop if its a feature you need’.

I have this problem too. Did you ever find a solution?
Did you even find a solution to this problem? It looks like it has resurfaced. I am having on Sonoma on an M3 Mac
The problem is still there and apple doesn’t acknowledge the problem. The “genius” I talked to told me “Our customers don’t really care about right clicking”. I’m a customer and not a new one and I care. This makes dragon flight almost impossible. But now we can use our regular mounts so I’m not worried anymore. It just takes me ages to get from point a to point b.
