Levelling through WoD I found out that the scrolls for mining and herbalism have a level 35 lock in them.
Shouldn´t we be able to learn the expansion´s professions as soon as we start them? Am I missing something?

Highly annoying for sure and add on top of it you need various tiers of engineering now instead of just “engineering”… Jeeves, lootarang, molle, etc.

I was really looking forward to leveling in Draenor again (I know, call me crazy) but the fact that I can’t train professions until I’m over halfway done with it seems pretty counter-intuitive.
That does seem like an oversight, but not a surprising one. Professions just don’t seem to be a priority anymore. Hopefully they’ll get around to fixing it eventually.
Blizz, please just simply remove the level requirement.
I think its possibly an oversight. There would need to be some adjustment for professions otherwise we have not way to really start leveling new characters until a much later level… This wouldnt make sense
Just an update here. I checked the herbalism scroll in my bag just now and it seems to be fixed. The garrison vendor that sells the cooking recipes appear to have same issue(looking at them in the vender. not bought yet)
New update! While in frostfire ridge, now level 22 I received 2 drops for professions. A scroll for cooking which I was able to use and a quest to start the alchemy questline. So it seems you can learn professions now? Anyone having issues with any professions still?
Can you eat any of the food you cook? I was up in Northrend just now looking at the profession trainers, and while you can learn cooking right away you still can’t eat anything you cook until level 27. Same thing with Alchemy - you can make potions, you can’t drink them.
