Camps should have 5 slots, not 4

Can we please extend the option to have 5 characters in a single camp on the character select screen? A party consists of 5 players, having it limited to 4 seems weird. I’m fine with the character just chilling in the back somewhere. Thanks.

But if we end up running Follower dungeons with our alts, a camp only needs 4.

Also: 5 would be too crowded on that screen.

I think they just didn’t write the code that way, and it would be too much of a pain to rewrite it.

Probably due to model size there isnt room without it being squished. Just click the panel on the right.

They’d probably have to zoom out a bit, and our characters would be a bit smaller to accommodate them all.

Four was probably what they decided on, based on how closely you could see the character and how well they’d fit on screen.

The basic campfire is the 5th member of the group.

At 4k the screen is anything but crowded. I don’t think it’s too much to ask to have Blizzard consider other sized camps.

My hot-take is that the campsite should be the warband. Only those toons share rep gains, gear, and currency.

I know that’s less good than what we have, but I love the idea of having to choose.

Depends on how it is organized. If you had 5 on the screen it could be set up so that if you entered a follower dungeon with one of the 5 the other 4 would go with you.

Put all the dwarves, gnomes, dracthyr, and Vulpera back there with pets and totems. That’ll make room in the front for the good looking races.

Campsites should be as big as you want, but just show the 1st 4 in that group on the screen, though 5 would be cool too I guess.

Also let me move the campsites up or down please.

Weren’t they suppose to have unique animations too? Remember seeing vids and photos of some toons sitting on crates or others cooking by the fire.

With the Manaforge Omega campsite, the characters on either end are seated on crates.

As someone who literally choses his first 5 characters per expansion now based on making sure they a) cover all armor types to utilize warbound hand me downs and b) can form a complete trinity party just in case we get “warband dungeons,” I concur that 5 would be nice.

This is partially true. There are 5 in the “follower escort” team because you occupy a variable spot, and an altoholic would (and does) move around in regards to which slot they fill. For this reason, I keep 5 in reserve for my “warband dungeon team,” and await the “warband dungeon” feature with aggressive anticipation!

I like how people addressed the “would be too crowded” thing, but I already mentioned in my post, that I would be fine with the 5th character just chilling in the back somewhere. Doesn’t need to be up front. Have them cleaning the camp up or something.

I had a similar topic recently but the more I think about it the more I question why we even have groups. They don’t function for anything. I’d rather just scroll through a list of all my characters with the option of sorting and filtering.

Maybe a hot take, but I do NOT like the campfire system. I prefer having my characters on their own realm lists, not together like they are.

If they could keep the camps while having the old realm lists, I think I’d be better with it

Why not 6? or 10?

I would just like to say that my two warbands of gnomes could easily fit into the same camp. Yall just gotta stop playing the beefy races.

While I agree with the OP, this is unfortunately true. I have a camp set up called The Paddock where I have two tauren and two highmountains and it is wall to wall beef. That said, it would be very funny to squeeze in a fifth. It would just emphasise how bloody big they are.
