After being camped by groups of horde for an hour just trying to complete the main quest line in front of Uldum, I’m happily quitting the game and seeing if I can get a refund on shadowlands. That the game allows, even encourages, this kind of game play means its not for me.

I should have, but the fact that the game heavily penalizes you for not having war mode on makes that a poor option. Also the fact that the player base is toxic enough to do this is another good reason to quit.
you are a priest. You could just chill in your city and spam random dungeons queues. Much faster leveling and stress free

You chose war mode, you choose world pvp. The extra rewards aren’t really worth it if you can’t complete the quests, right?

10% is not heavily penalized. Oh no, I got 2 less gold and 15 less coalescing visions.

Not getting a bonus is not the same thing as being penalized

it doesn’t penalize you at all. you get 100% normal xp and AP with war mode off. you get extra with it on…that is EXTRA

This is the kind of behavior encouraged by Blizzard’s current implementation of warmode. I kind of miss the old style of PvP that happened more organically, and was not artificially induced by reward structures set up by Blizzard. Maybe they should have just introduced a toggle, and that’s it. No bonuses, no rewards, nothing. If you toggle on, it’s because you like the possibility of PvP out in the world. Not because you’re hungry for conquest points or bonus gold or whatever.
Then quit. Or turn warmode off. Literally isn’t a requirement to play the game at all.
