Camera Issues while looking up

it seems to happen randomly when i look up into the sky. the camera should zoom into my character and look up, but for some reason it gets suck about 10-15 feet behind and just looks straight up. cant see my character or anything. cant seem to find a fix or anyone else with this issue. iv tested it in a open field to make sure its not stuck on something and it still happens. not game breaking but a bit awkward. any help would be great

i guess for a better example when you look up while flying your camera is underneath your toon, but with this issue the camera is about 15-20 yards behind looking up like its caught or stuck on something

Just testing this - my camera doesn’t zoom into my character. I don’t recall zooming in being normal functionality, but I don’t really look into the sky super often.

May require more corroboration.

It doesnt actually zoom in, but if you are on the ground its basically zooming into your body to look up.

Unless I’m mistaken, I think that’s by design.

The camera acts almost like a physical thing, if you think about it. It also zooms in when you run into heavily wooded areas and put trees directly behind you. It zooms in to compensate so that you can see what’s happening in front of you instead of your sight line being obstructed by those same trees.

In the same way, you can’t really send the camera underground in order to look overhead.

ya thats how its supposed to work, i understand that. what im saying is when i look into the sky instead of the camera getting closer to my toon before looking up it looks up at max camera distance. which is not normal at all

Don’t worry Bob! you’re not crazy! I had this same issue and I found the solution so I wanted to post it here for others.
