We both know you are not here to have an actual conversation, but to protect your gold selling business. Regardless I suppose I will destroy your weak wall.
If you pvp to pvp than other peoples WB’s should be irrelevant. After all you can still PvP but if the intent is only to remove the other players WB’s then that is indeed griefing. Apparently the delvs agree with me since they implemented the Chronoboon to curb this very behavior.
GDKP has proven to ruin player economies and communities through the ability to swipe for gear. While it is profitable for folks like you, decent people can understand how it devalues those that actually put in time and effort to acquire said gear. Furthermore, MMO’s since their inception have relied on guild communities to maintain longevity and we have seen twice now ('19 relaunch and SoD) GDKP’s having an adverse effect on communities that do not wish to participate in P2W gaming.
In conclusions, your assertion that “no one” wanted this version of the game is flat out wrong. Just looking back at posts from '19-'22 in the Classic forums it appears as though most people dislike GDKP’s and also were asking for the honor system to be revamped.
Did I miss anything? I don’t blame you from trying to protect your financial interest but misleading others for your own financial gain is far from the behavior of a decent person.
I appreciate the effort you put in this post to troll.
Chronoboon was not implemented for that, it was implemented because of tinyviolin, thats it.
You say GDKP ruins economies, what about retail wow? The race to world first is completely funded through RMT behavior. They pay viewers from their stream, Gold, to trade them gear to their raiders. So you could consider that “guild community” but they arent actually in the guild.
Most people dislike the honor system because they couldnt complete it, thats a fact.
If youre going to accuse me of selling gold multiple times, provide some proof. Lets see it then. And then to say im not a decent person? What decent person falsely accuses someone of something, and then hurls insults at that person?
Griefing raiders on PvP servers is literally the quoted reason for the Chronoboon, no amount of gaslighting can change that. It is still there for you to verify if you so choose.
It did and we know this because of '19 relaunch and SoD. It is easy to verify the amount of community outrage of the P2W if choose to do so. This is not even arguable since the developers have banned it siting its determent to the economy, community and game overall.
Yep and were asking for changes well before the '19 launch which blows up your assertion that “no one” was asking for this lol
100% wrong. It was in at the start. However they were gated by reputation and how many people had rep for essences to summon rag. Nice try though “duderino”
They flood LFG/World channel, which people chose to join and got upset.
yes the old system was. Making it more prestigious and rare. Even if i cant obtain it, its still cool its in the game like that. Rank 14 is made for everyone, thats why the system was built the way it is. not enough bracket slots for everyone to do it. Now everyone will be rank14 before BWL. and raiding will die off hard
Again you are 100% wrong here. Do your research its not hard.
"On release, Molten Core and Onyxia’s Lair were the only 40 man instances in the game, thus Ragnaros was the first “game end boss.” "
So now youre assuming they are unemployed? Maybe they are more successful than us. They are retired and have all the time in the world to play. maybe they work from home. Maybe they are disabled and unable to work. There are endless amounts of reasons why, the fact you think that shows your mindset.
This is my problem more than anything. As someone I knew in Vanilla who just reached out to me the other day said “After they started sharding the servers, the game never felt the same”.
Now I know that layers need to be in at the start but having them on there forever doesn’t create the type of rivalries or world environment that makes the game “feel like Vanilla”.
I’ve complained about the megaservers but the many layers is more of a problem to me than the one server thing. I almost want this to be unpopular. The server size of the Era Whitemane Cluster is ok IMO. 100,000 with 10 layers feels more like Retail. I know people like even smaller.
Now getting to the honor system thing, I was one of the few people who tried to fight against that change, it did nothing but get people to be nasty to me. The social dynamics in the old system were incredibly complex and like nothing that has existed in any other video game before or since.
Most people when you talk about that will go right to it being about gear or will say that social skills shouldn’t matter in an MMO (they often start going off about how the old system depended on time not skill, but when asking about social skills aka the ability to work with others - one of the most important real skills on the planet and something that people spend their whole lives working on - this gets ignored completely). I think what I am getting at goes right over the head of most people, unfortunately.
At least if premades are allowed part of what made Classic PVP great will be there, but if it’s an AV meta for months again, even that won’t be a thing.
IMO how much does Blizzard understand the self-minded player who wants to log in, collect gear, and perform a rotation and that’s pretty much it? 100%. How much does Blizzard understand the more social player who wants a social experience where they get memories that will last a lifetime? Maybe 3%, and that’s being generous.
I agree that the PvP changes are bad. I don’t think it’ll make raiding a complete waste of time though
I also dislike the chronoboon, the original sin of classic. But that thing is firmly embedded in the game now, we’re not getting rid of it sadly.
GDKP ban is blech but I won’t be dealing with it since I’ll be in a proper raiding guild, what you’re supposed to do in classic.
We shall see. I’m still quite optimistic.
Some people want to actually enjoy the game, not lose hours getting griefed by people. I cannot comprehend how some people get a kick of spending their time dispelling people’s world buff. There will still be BiS for everyone in every raid even if everyone would be R14, so i don’t see how it makes raid worthless? R14 grind is nowhere near a display of skill, just countless hours anyway, and worst of all, competing against other people with who has the most amount of time. This was always something that was annoying trying to go for full BiS. I agree that banning GDKP is really annoying but every other changes is a great thing.
Uh no, there are a lot of tryhards that will log off as soon as they get all their world buffs who otherwise wouldn’t so they can get their orange and pink parses, this isn’t even a question. Chronoboon is like the most basic endgame QoL improvement they could do for classic’s endgame and some of you guys are against this because you think this has a negative impact on world PvP because you can’t steal people’s world buffs or other weird vague reasons that basically boil down to ‘hands off mah classic.’ Some classic players really are a different breed.
You
Obviously don’t know this community very well, and you didn’t play 2019 from what I gather. Your main experiences are from sod are they not?
Every guild that had a brain ran a buff train on a schedule. Most raids did it the night before or a few hours before raids wirh the exception being DMF week.
Chronoboon is and always will be a method of aversion to getting wiped in brm.
You could always avoid this by playing on a pve server. The red herring fallacy is strong here. But nobody does that, they play on pvp server knowing full well the rules of engagement.
While I was not a buff dispeller etc, my highlight of raid night was the preparation of our raid to get ready for BRM pvp and owning the guilds who look to wipe us. That was more fun than the raid itself. You likely missed out on this not having played 2019.
The game isn’t just a raider game, contrary to popular claims it is a pve and pvp game at the same time
That’s where its replay ability comes from. Not “I can’t wait to press frostbolt in mc”
But there’s not really a point in us arguing about boons. The server will be at max layers bursting at the seams. Chronoboon doesn’t even matter with this many layers. Now if they made a server witu 1 layer or 2-3 I would be wanting boons out personally. 10 layers? Sure I could care less
Yes brm pvp will still be there, but the risk factor and the anticipation of the “rush” for fighting for your buff advantage isn’t there. Which as I said, was the highlight of my raid night every week. It’ll still be fun tho
