Calling it now; Casuals are not going to like Ashenvale

With Ashenvale being a 24/7 pvp full zone. If casuals got quest or come here for runes they will be camped by twink gangs/ Griefing streamer generals who are going to lay siege to roads, nodes and all quest givers.

That usually works for me.

I mean we will have to wait and see. No reason to make it a pvp zone on a non pvp server. If you want to participate flag up.

Casuals play on PvE realms. I doubt Ashenvale even pops off on any PvE realms in SoD.

It will. Pve realms still do world pvp sometimes.

Why would you even play PvP servers (unless you intend to be one of those jerks ganking all day). Most normal people will go on PVE servers to enjoy questing and PVP on the PVP zones when they feel like it.

Pvp servers were most popular on classic launch. I think a lot of people discovered they didnt actually like pvp servers. Itll be interesting to see how it shakes out this time with the changes.

Normal realms simply have a way to toggle PVP off in contested zones. For some reason, a lot of people seem to say something like, “I like PVP, so I rolled on a PVP realm. I just wish there was a way to toggle it off in contested zones.”

Well on normal realms you dont get flagged in contested zones. You have to turn it on rather than off.

Fair enough. It’s still a toggle either way. I have seen some people ask for “Warmode” which is arguably just PVE realms, but I think their point is to give an incentive to turn PVP on on Normal realms, like increased XP, though in Retail there is additionally access to PVP skills, and some quests.

In any case, I hope we can spread awareness so that people who just want a way to toggle PVP off, but enjoy PVP can understand that that’s what Normal realms give them.

Im not a fan if increased xp myself. Itll be a much easier grind only doing so many levels at a time.

Oh it will, there’s a mount involved. Even if it only works in Ashenvale, it’s a big zone and a big perk.

Yeah, I’m not a fan of removing PVP realms, and attempting to coerce people into flagging themselves for PVP with Warmode. It just seems like Blizzard took a lazy approach to appeal to loud people who complain a lot with that one, and those who don’t complain as much and just keep playing until they quietly give up all hope eventually and stop playing are the ones who really suffered.

I agree. Id rather just have the pvp realms for those people who want that and let us normal realm folks do our thing.

I mean i do not believe that pvp zones will be fun, the majority faction will make some characters and will use this to game the system so I think given paladin buffs and the like we might see a 55a-45h~ numbers. Since we have little word on how hard the revamped raids will be. Think I will like pvp in battleground and they might be fun as people try to get rank4 i think and the pvp trinket from wsg.

It will be fun to see what people can utilize and I really think it will be a lot of people doing a quest which is technically level 25 as a raid boss.

I mean who really does anything in Ahenvale besides run through it?? Just being honest, casuals wont be affected by it

I hope the announcement of blizzard trying to keep the servers balanced is enough to keep people that will complain away.

Everyone saw how much they actually don’t want pvp servers in og classic. Let those of us that do have them this time.
