Because the writing team gives absolutely 0 effs about lore and is creatively bankrupt by allowing nonsense like eredar DKs, shaman and paladins. Though I believe you’re likely right about the void stuff being next.

We’re going to see us align with the Light. Calia is going to lead the Horde and Anduin will lead the Alliance. Many Horde players will come to the forums and complain an alliance plant is leading them.
It’s going to be glorious.
Also we’re going to get AU Yrel back with her big army!

I hope not. Seeing how they handled the afterlife I don’t have high hopes of them making an enjoyable expansion based on the void.

Last patch in Legion dealt heavily in the void, but we completely abandoned the ethereal/alleria stuff for multiple expansions now. It means nothing.
Next expansion is underground.
Might not wanna celebrate that too early chief. We might be on the receiving end of her crusade because light bad or something.

On a side note, I wonder if the possible next months-long SAG-AFTRA strike is going to affect the next expansion? It’s very likely at this point that there will be ANOTHER actors strike against the video game industry and I would be shocked if it’s somehow averted or doesn’t last like 11 months.
Aside from that, next expansion’s probably going to involve the Void in some way, or the expansion after 11.0.

Am i the only one that just does not give a damn? I just plod along, collect my pets, mounts, mog and toys. I make sure to get my AOTC each tier and also get my keymaster mounts, but the subject of expansions, the lore, the questing and whatnot mean absolutely nothing to me lol

O’ lord an expansion of watered down Lovecraft with tentacle monsters sounds even more tedious than a pirate expansion. You can’t do Lovecraftian storytelling in a setting where heroes merrily jaunt off to beat gods to death with iron sticks.
If we’re doing void, I want a sanity mechanic. I want a protagonist that’s some kind of sniveling, cowardly academic type. At least one boss or antagonist that is a color. And Give me some non euclidean geometry or gtfo.
