Calligraphy turtle world quest

Oh you got to be kidding me!

The guide disappears in 2 seconds and you stop moving you fail and if you keep it going, then almost certainly STILL FAIL if your “writing” isn’t close enough.

In case anyone else is having trouble like me,

  1. create a private group of just you
  2. Quickly drop raid makers to help you aim
  3. And go.
  4. They repeat the same symbol over and over, so it may take several raid mark drops and attempts even with those extra guides.

Or I can just do the shell-matching quests.

Once I figured out exactly what I was supposed to do it was easy.

Definitely frustrating the 1st couple tries and I hope it’s always a square

If you can’t process simple shapes that spawn for like 7 seconds after u accept, it just might not be for u

I wish there was a 2nd option. Instead of teaching those baby turtles about shapes, I would rather just feed them to the gulls.

So far I’ve done it once.

Must have REALLY screwed up, because after I was done, Nola told me I was a bad influence on the children, threw some gold at me, and basically told me to get lost.

Counted as a completion though.

(There’s a bug that causes the WQ to sometimes use the Failure dialogue when you clear it rather than the Completion dialogue)

How many times did you run it? …took me like 5 tries the first time till she gave her approval.

Maybe there’s an auto-complete if you fail X number of times?

Edit: saw your edit. never mind.

Twice, I just had to make a square. Took me one run to learn the mechanic and completed it on the second go round.

Just going to keep on doing Shell Games. The new Tortollan World Quests are not fun.

Mine was in Zuldazar by the horde pvp quartermaster and it was a triangle.
And the guide lines disappeared in less than 4 seconds. There were like 4 times when it compared my shape to its and said, “nope”.

Nope, I’ve only ever been able to run the first shape with any approval from Nola, then it doesn’t matter how fast or accurate I am on the second try, the sparkles fade and the quest ends, forcing me to start over. Worst-implemented quest ever.

This!

It would even be cases where I was on the line by a good 75% of the time and then I would fail.

For the people saying it’s so easy, memorizing exactly where I’m supposed to change direction can be difficult when it is demanding a certain level of precision.

I’ll continue to avoid it and do other turtle wq, preferably the shell matching game.

Agreed. It is really not well done at all. I foresee changes to it very shortly ( or at least I would hope )

Works fine for me. Maybe you should get your eyes checked.

I found an even easier method, which would be to stay mounted. If you move and turn quickly, you’ll have the line to guide you from start to finish.

The whole point of it is a memorization game. The line is supposed to disappear and you’re still supposed to complete it as accurately as possible. I just stayed mounted and followed as closely and quickly as possible. Took me 3 tries. 2 to ‘get it’ and 1 to complete it.

And everyone complains that WoW is too easy.

Scrollsage Nola is secretly raising a juvenile turtle army to take over Azeroth. Those poor seagulls and crabs you have been killing are the good guys! Now Evil Nola is trying to hex you with her witchity grub.

The concept is easy, but the way it is designed and coded makes it frustrating and buggy
