So this item does not work, no matter where you are or what you do, the message “You can’t do that yet” always appears. Even staring at the quest mob for Special Formula, you cannot call the abomination to do the quest. All other abominations can be summoned by clicking on their item, but not Gas Bag.

This is also happening to me. I’ve reloaded, logged in and out, dropped the quest and physically recruited Gas Bag and dismissed him and tried the item multiple times. All other abomination summon items work fine, in fact I’ve summoned and dismissed them all before trying Gas Bag again to make sure one of them wasn’t still considered active but not showing up.

I am having the same problem and it has been 3 weeks now
I am experiencing the same thing. It wasn’t so bad last week because you could do the quest without him, but this week, the quest NPC is also bugged so you cannot do the quest at all. This needs to be corrected as Gasbag has been bugged since he was “born”.
I too am having this problem. All of the other abomination call items work just fine. But this one does nothing.
Same issue here, many patches later. I can accept all the abomination stitching quests at once every week and the only one I have to go physically pick up is gas bag, his item doesn’t work.
This is an issue for me too.
