What is required to get Calia Menethil to actually show up in Orgrimmar? On one of my chacracters, which has played through Shadowlands, I can see her outside Grommosh Hold.
However, this character (which is really level 70) has not played through Shadowlands or BfA and Calia Menethil is not there. I just checked and this character has done the Maw intro but stopped at the “Understanding the Shadowlands” quest which is the one right before “The Path to Bastion”. For this character, Calia Menethil is not in Oribos either. I don’t remember at what point in the Shadowlands campaign that Calia shows up in Oribos but maybe if she isn’t there, she won’t be in Orgrimmar either.
I have a new-ish undead character (currently level 30) that I was planning on leveling up to 50 in the northern Eastern Kingdom zones and then talk to Calia in Ogrimmar to start the Return to Lordaeron quest line and then work on the heritage armor quest line.
Is that going to work? Or am I going to have to play through Shadowlands anyway?
Probably thru Bastion at least to a certain point.
Someone else in a comment section I was reading through said that you might have to select a covenant first? I don’t know if that’s true, but if it’s an option to try, might as well do it. But if you’re not on the “skip the story” track, it might not be an option for you.
I was hoping my Undead character wouldn’t have to play through Shadowlands. (Well, kind of… joining Necrolords would give me a slightly better chance to get that third and final doggamn oozing necroray egg.) But maybe the Return to Lordaeron quest line is intertwined with the Shadowlands campaign. I guess I’ll find out soon enough.
There is no need to do the Shadowlands content to show Calia at Orgrimmar. You may need to be Lv 50 to find her though.

See that image, she is Lv 50 and never done Shadowlands content as you can see Highlord Darion Mograine giving quest to start the Maw quests, and Calia Menethil giving the quest to Lordaeron.
(My undead character finally showed up in the forum’s “Change Character” list…)
Interesting. She doesn’t show up for my level 70, non-Shadowlands characters. But all of them actually started SL, doing or skipping the Maw intro, doing the initial Oribos quests, but not continuing on to Bastion. Perhaps once you start SL, you have to complete it, at least in part, in order to see Calia at all.

Oh god, please no. Say it ain’t so, Doc.
No you don’t.
She was there on a freshly boosted Forsaken who had never touched SL.
She only shows up for Forsaken toons.
When this thread was posted, there was a bug that prevented Calia from appearing before level 60. Now it’s to the proper level 50.
