At the rate they’re pushing her as the shiny new Forsaken leader.
I’m not saying in the sense that she’s gonna nuke a city and push supremacy of her race/existence, but in how it’s all gonna play out.
Look at how Garrosh was touted as the shiny new orc leading the Horde after Thrall, look at his reception, look at what happened to him.
Now look at Calia, replacing a former leader who was much beloved for most of this game’s existence.

Now now, don’t get my hopes up. We know that anyone that is a cheerleader for the Alliance has their life secured.
Calia will probably end up like Cairne Bloodhoof, just sitting around doing nothing and finally end up getting killed by some random Murloc or Gnoll.

Technically at this point, it would be Garrosh 3.0 as Sylvanas already took the 2.0 spot.
He just didn’t shake the pom poms hard enough.
Sylvanas has the “I am doing EVIL, hate me!”, but she didn’t have the path Garrosh had.
People LIKED Sylvanas.

Blizz confirmed she was not going to be the forsaken leader. She is only helping you all until some point.
She still manages to insert herself in all sorts of discussions at all times.
Like that nosey Aunt who keeps coming into the kitchen to “help” on Thanksgiving and everyone is too polite to tell her to just buzz off.
After the backlash she had some scenarios edited, she had all the trappings of “hey forget about that old elf, look at your shiny and new leader we just made for you! LOVE HER!” before and currently still.

And people DID like Garrosh He was likeable at the start of cataclysm.
Proof? And most people hated Sylvannas.
Well she is also acting as a double agent for Jaina to spy on the horde’s actions and make sure they aren’t starting up more wars.

Who? Alliance? Horde players despised Garrosh during BC, during Wrath, and during Cata. That’s why Metzen got an earful at Blizzcon after Garrosh was made “warchief” and had to defend their writing to the assembled (and very angry) Horde players.

In addition, I looked back into her lore and realized she’s been doing shady stuff since Classic.
Which made me realize if I had known about all the shady stuff she was doing in the first place, I probably would have never liked her.
He had a lot of hate from Wrath and leading into Cata, Cairne’s murder didn’t help in the slightest.
Pushing very hard a brand new unliked character to replace a well liked character.
I didn’t Sylvanas was universally loved, but she was rather well liked for most of the game.
