Hi, The Cache of the Legion from The Mechanar is not unlocking, even after killing the mini bosses required to open the chest. This chest contains a recolor of priest T2 shoulders that I was looking forward to using as a transmog, but because the chest is bugged I cannot obtain the appearance. Looking through the forums and it appears this has been a known and reported issue for over a year now. It’s extremely disappointing to see a bug go unfixed for so long, and makes Classic Cataclysm look unfinished and unpolished, which causes some concern for the upcoming MoP Classic patch.
Previously you had to kill both mini bosses which dropped crystals used to make a key to open the chest. With the launch of Cataclysm Classic, those crystals were removed and the chest is supposed to automatically open when you kill the mini bosses, but it does not (and crystals don’t drop either).
Update July 6th 2025: As of today, even after MoP pre-patch, the Cache of the Legion is still inaccessible.
