One thing that made vanilla great was the pace. We were all in the dark. Min-max was not really a thing and there was no certain spec or playstyle 99% of the player base were expected to conform to.
That came later, in TBC when the armory was released, and once you could inspect talents and had a billion guides spoon feeding the masses… thottbot for the longest time was our only complete and reliable source of info…
C+ needs to put us back in the dark, by first, REMOVING CHRONOBOON. That right there will cut out buffs on 50% of the players that think theyre hardcore, and the other 50% will spend most their time sitting logged out, which is perfect, a win win.
Next steps…
Randomize dungeons and raid map, mob, and boss structure/buffs/skills (this helps to achieve proper pace walking into the unknown)
Randomize gear stats. Add small ranges on stat rolls, modifiers, etc. This is where the farm and test of time returns, BUT allows players to pass down items in favor of waiting for certain mods, and keeps casuals, alts, and community, in the mix.
Community has actually felt decent on Nightslayer. One PVP realm. Tons and tons of groups active. Gargul ML with SR is exactly what type of organization the loot system needed. Handing gear out fair and square; skewing odds ever so slightly for players willing to sit through a raid for 2 rolls on a single item theyre after… and passing out all SR loot at the end of the raid so the group doesnt fall apart when people take their loot and dip. Mind you, this hoard and distribute method really only makes sense given the current quick pace of the game, just wanted to point out its been a nice change of scenery.
Lastly… need a PVP server option with NO LINKED BATTLEGROUNDS. and/or NO BATTLEGROUNDS AT ALL. Pure wpvp. WPVP weekends. Faction controlled cities. Outlaw designation for griefers and gankers (cant go in certain towns or cities, bounties = bonus honor?)

At this point… hit the graphics while youre at it. If the botters cant run the game on a toaster, that will get rid of a bunch of them, or atleast substantially cut into their profits.

Yep, Classic Plus will be a complete failure.
The devs have been failing ever since TBC launched originally and will continue making the same mistakes that led to retail because they don’t know how to do anything else.
I actually think an outside company could save WOW better than these Devs. Look at Turtle WOW for example.
All we are gonna get with Classic Plus is Retail Minus.

I think its a bit naïve to think you somehow know what the entire Classic player base wants, in fact I would point out that retail got the way it did from the delvs listening to players much like you.

People stopped playing during later in TBC because content got hard. They really stopped playing in Wrath because of hard modes.
