C+ Combatmelding

Give night elves combat melding for classic plus to bridge the racial gap in PvP. Would actually like to run an ally on classic for once.

10 sec CD meld is actually really nice, in reality all the racials are really nice if you ignore “Raid only”

Is this the racial “vanish” that Night Elves get later on?

That would be pretty cool to have, hope they do add that.

I’d just ask that Demoralizing Shout breaks stealth. Who thought it was a good idea to remove that?

It’s still shadowmeld even in retail it’s just usable in combat so it can function as an interrupt if you’re being casted on or act as a vanish for druids.

If classic+ has arena then sure. But shadowmeld is already very strong in BGs and world pvp.

A drink + food + meld macro is the strongest pvp regen in the game. Out of sight, out of mind as the saying goes. Hunters can meld + pet prowl to setup an ambush. Priests can ambush with meld into mind control. Warriors can do the same with meld > charge.

Rogues and druids can meld while stealth is on cooldown. Stealth has a 5-10 second cooldown, a very long time for enemy players to flag you for combat.

You can already do this in vanilla. If someone is casting a fireball, starfire, whatever and you are already out of combat or combat drops during the cast, you can cancel their cast by melding. Of course you have to be fast, probably not a play for those who click their abilities…

It would be even cooler if racials didn’t exist or were selectable like talents.

It’s completely game breaking and way too powerful for classic.

Absolutely not

Id argue its on par with every horde race having better racials than alliance lmao

I’m not really opposed… I mean, a vanish on a 2-3 min CD isn’t really all that game breaking, especially when compared to an AoE stun on a 2min CD.

However, there kind of is value in the Era implementation of Shadowmeld since it’s basically always available. It’s not nearly as powerful but the frequency of use does have its advantages.

Haha plus, I ask you this…! If you change it, how am I going to shadowmeld+drink after every single pull? :stuck_out_tongue:

By rerolling dwarf priest like god intended.

Sir, the very second you’re allowed to be a Dwarf Druid I am 100% in!

Priests aren’t my vibe though.

Wouldn’t that make nelf the best race for pvp, by a pretty large margin?

It is quite nice, but depending on the type of PVP, non-combat shadowmeld is already quite strong in Classic. As are other Alliance racials.

Because moving a cursor between a GCD somehow requires more skill or effort than moving a finger to press a keybind?

That’s only half joking… on the one hand, I’m skeptical that 20+ year veteran WoW players are clicking (that is who I imagine is the average Classic player), and on the other hand, I’m skeptical that if one has been a “clicker” for that long they would have such trouble clicking shadowmeld.

I’ve played every PvP season of retail since the introduction of RSS and nothing in Classic comes anywhere close to in combat smeld. It isn’t even close.

Edit: not to say horde don’t have better PvP racials in Classic, they do. But retail night elves are just busted

Orc Hardiness, and Undead WotF are quite good, but good against specifically stuns and fears, respectively. Which are, of course, huge in PVP. But an UD rogue doesn’t really have any advantage over a dwarf rogue, nor an orc warrior over a gnome mage. It’s all situational.

NO
absolutly not

racials are veyr cool flavourfull stuff and great worldbuiding

its mmoRPG
ROLEPLAYING GAME

Its just quite alot slower
Thast justa FACT
cna you do do well enough with clicking? generly yes

But It is objectivly SLOWER

It’s objectively not a fact. The GCD is the GCD, regardless of whether you click or press a keybind.

Not by objective measurements.

To be fair, you seem to have missed that my comment was a slight against using the strawman “clicker.” As if that’s a thing 22 years later…

I play horde also, the horde racials aren’t actully better, they are just lower skill required to use.

On my UD reach for perception all the time, on my humans I reach for will of the forsaken. Each as its use, none are truly better, only that its situational.

The only racial that I can understand frustration with from both sides (RIP my orc shaman) Is Hardiness, I swear it never works when I want it, and when I play VS it; almost never prevents HOJ or intercpet / Charge; so why even keep the garbage since if just annoys everyone. IMO replace hardiness with +5 swords. Not even joking, every single orc that raids will love this upgrade.

Its 2026, nobody should be clicking or having their S key bound to backpedal unless theyre a stroke victim.

tbf thats the vibe of classic no? Horde has better PvP racials, but alliance has better PvE ones. IE. +5 SWORDS, Dwaven fear ward, gnome mana/escape artist.

Why cant horde also enjoy nice PVE racials. simply trading out garbage hardiness for +5 swords would be both awesome and a massive improvement for everyone.
