Bye WoW, bye mages

Play this game since day 1, it has been too long.
I have been playing mage since day 1, I have seem the ups and downs. Do not like how this company treat mages in Dragonflight, I decide to give up on this game and move on.

$16/mo won’t hurt this company, so no worries.

A complete rework mid expansion is being treated badly?

Its ok. Some people just arent strong enough to bear the burden. Not everyone is a Frodo in a world of Ned Starks.

Can I have your stuff? Send gold please.

Warriors already begging for nerfs to arcane. It’s only a matter of time.

No one cares about pvp.

Join my guild, we can run mages together and be buddies.

I do have to say, taking a break from the game (even a permanent one) might be the best thing to happen to you. Discover and grow other interests and talents.

Ok? The rework changed the playstyles for the better. The nerfs were also warranted

I agree 90%!

Frost definitely isn’t mindlessly boring to play anymore. I do find Glacial Spike clunky to play with since the last time it was viable. I think it’s the 2 stacks of Winter’s Chill we get now instead of the 1 last time GS was the go-to. Otherwise, for ST and AoE I’m calling the frost reworks a win.

Arcane is finally fun to play again in M+. The Orb barrage procs make old Legion Arcane Playing Me giggle with glee. I am still massively disappointed in the ST rotation consisting of half a dozen damage modifiers. I’m not a fan of that gameplay.

I haven’t tried Fire (yet?) but from what I hear from the 2 mages playing it in my guild they are blissfully happy with the changes.

So … other than Arcane ST and a bit of clunkiness to Frost ST, I’m not sure why someone would give up on mages now. Yes they got nerfed a bit but it hasn’t hurt frost at all and fire needed it but fire suffers from being an ideal candidate for PI and Aug … Demo locks been victim of the nerf bat for that reason too. Not fair, but still warranted to nerf them down from Godlike status.

Agree with everything you said. The reason people are leaving is they realized it’s not rop as to why they weren’t performing.

Now let’s get that Arcane ST addressed lol

As to RoP, I don’t miss it honestly but had learned to use it effectively (though using it effectively for frost was never to the degree you had to use it for the other two specs).

I never agreed with the whole “RoP is what’s wrong with mages” argument. It was a potential symptom of the larger issues with gameplay that have been addressed for the most part by the changes that came this patch but it was never the magic bullet that made mages, for me, unenjoyable to play and/or underperform in some content.

… I’m still glad it’s gone though. I have no room on my bars as frost or arcane for another spell now lol.

The issue was that a lot of people on this forum were using rop as the scapegoat for underperforming. While I agree rop was meh and I don’t miss it I also know that most people’s complaints were actually due to making rotation mistakes.

Now that rop is gone I see Aug bikers being used as the excuse now.

Come on Snozy, that is not true.

This is a primary PvE game. Also anecdotal evidence has zero bearing

Primarily agreed, but certainly not exclusively. Plenty of Mages do PVP.

the most annoying ppl u will ever find on here say things like this lolz.

The most annoying ones are people that don’t have a clue and actually think they do.
