By Far The Worst Voice Acting I Have Heard In The Game Yet

So, if your in Valdrakken, fly as if you need to take the Legacy of Tyr portal, right in front of the little house that has the portal, youll see two NPC’s talking to each other for a quest to pick up

The conversation is between NPC Scalecommander Emberthal and Amythora… this voice acting is awful. They clearly didn’t hire voice actors and it sounds like its just two devs or interns or something. It sounds so forced and uninspired. I feel like I’m in a fantasy comic shop and overhearing a really boring DnD Campaign. I can tell what exactly these people look like based off their voice acting lines its AWFUL

Please take this out of the game asap. You make too much money to be cutting corners like this

I swear that every voice acted female NPC in the game shares the same voice actor. Jaina might be the one outlier. Everywhere I go in Blizzard games, I hear Zaela.

Another bad one but male is the dragon dude narrator in The Ruby Life Pools… i swear that guy sounds EXACTLY like a certain reoccuring South Park voice (usually part of a community like lgbtqia++ and the like etc)

I feel like they do this stuff on purpose. Like to get a laugh out of their younger playerbase etc. When I was kid I’d definitely appreciate that stuff with my friends.

I was extremely disappointed to hear Zaela in Diablo 4. Blizzard has the same two or three voice actors on retainer for all of their games.

When you forget to pay voice actors

I’m torn between liking it when they bother to include voice acting at all (it’s ridiculously ignored in this genre in general) and agreeing that they constantly use what are clearly not professional voice actors for things like this.

I would literally rather have a Retail version of whatever that Classic addon is called for the AI Voices than some of the voice acting Blizzard puts into the game.

Like, the conversation between the 2 NPCs before the Tree boss in Academy? What the hell is that?

As someone who is guilty of reading the lore books… I definitely agree. I’d rather not even have them at all if theyre this bad.

You’re scraping the bottom with this one.

Yes but Valdrakken also has the best voice acting. The Drakonid merchants that very aggressively proclaim that they have The widest selection…ANYWHEEEERE.

They say it as if they’re about to initiate combat or something. That’s how strongly they feel about their inventory.

Your right actually I didnt lol  curious now

Gotta strongly agree with Sendryn here. :joy:

Oh boy… for the prime example, head on into Dragon Soul and listen to Afrastrasz or whatever Afrasiabi’s dragon-dude was named as he yells stuff. It’s so bad it’s funny. lol

I mean…I’ll just say it’s okay to have some fun with voice acting. While every voice action won’t be for everyone, there are people who will enjoy it and see it for whimsy. If you want to hear your preferred voice acting, it’s all in the game for you to go experience.

My opinion of worst voice acting was when they redid Kael’thas Sunstrider in The Eye, legit there’s stuff I still want/need there for transmog but I refuse to go because it’s just awful and I hate it.

Kind of random I know but wanted to throw that out there anyway.

hahahahahaha. that was good. XD

True story I wanted to sample some of the voice tracks in shadowmoon burial ground “He hears only darkness now,” and like that.

Thing is when I isolated the voices without the music, they were actually so poorly done that I didn’t feel any of it captured the gravity of the words themselves. If anything it just came off weaksauce edgelord which was the opposite of what I was looking for.

In other words, just barely hearing the words with music blaring and over half my brain focusing on the action, I must’ve thought it sounded a lot cooler than it actually was once I eliminated all the distractions. Weird and a bit disappointing.

I dare say I don’t feel this game is very well voice acted at all. I would never show any of the voice acting to anyone who doesn’t play unless maybe if I was playing it for laughs.

To be fair I can say that about practically all video games though, it’s why I prefer the 80s-90s era when voice acting was practically nonexistent. Especially RPGs with a lot of dialogue, let me just read the friggin’ text. I promise it will sound better in my head.

All I can think of is Murozond in End Time, every time I hear his voice in there I feel my soul trying to escape my body to get away.
