Do you have to complete the attunement quest to walk in through the UBRS entrance?
I never tried walking into Molten Core through the BRD entrance before I got attuned…anyone have experience here? From old vanilla or classic.

In Vanilla you could zone into BWL through UBRS without completing the quest.
Originally there was no MC attunement quest and the only way into MC was via the BRD portal. Back then you could have a full raid of 40 in BRD at once though.
No. In fact the level requirement goes away if you enter through the brd portal for mc. We had a 52 resto druid at our first clear.
Oof. Running through BRD to the MC portal? That’s one HELL of a run back if you die.
No, you do not have to be attuned to go into BWL through the entrance inside UBRS.
The attunement is only for the orb outside of the UBRS entrance that ports you directly into BWL.
Id imagine most guilds will be running into UBRS to the BWL entrance as the mob that drops the attunement quest will be camped for the first couple days.
actually rozen there is a level requirement still its 50…you just beat it
Ok cool, thanks all. Last question. If you enter BWL through UBRS and die inside BWL, how do you get back inside? Are you able to use the orb as a ghost?
If you are attuned you revive in UBRS and walk to orb.
Gotta run back through UBRS to the BWL entrance.
The orb wont work.
The attunement is 55.
thats so weird tho…how can you zone into one instance when your corpse is in another?
You can talk to the MC teleporter guy while dead so I don’t know. I’ve never tried running to BRD after dying in MC.
this is why i think as a ghost it doesnt matter if you’re attuned or not, the orb at the end of the hallway outside UBRS should work without attunement
Perhaps it should, but I am pretty confident it does not.
FYI you can also just jump through the window right next to him and it’ll zone you in.
It would be, if anyone ever did it.
The NPC outside BRD let players that had already completed the MC discovery quest line access to MC through teleporting in patch 1.3
This was over a month before the world first ragnaros kill, so the amount of players that had ever entered Mc was incredibly low. Not to mention the original teleport (through the window next to the NPC) was already in place. Why run through all of BRD when you could just jump through the window.
so then i guess, the only concern with entering BWL through UBRS is uncertainty over how you would re-enter the instance. The only time I could see this being an issue is if someone dies in the suppression room.
Before raid, 10 people clear out all of UBRS.
If the raid must run back (didn’t you have a soulstone?), you just have to deal with the fact that you’ll be bottlenecked at UBRS since there can only be 10 players in there at a time.
The first week is going to be weird since players won’t all be attuned and lots of raids will be wiping repeatedly on certain Vaelastraszs *cough* I mean bosses. You’re going to have LOTS of players herpaderping against the UBRS portal as other parts of their raid are running to the BWL portal.
Funny thing is I actually don’t think people will be wiping a bunch to Vael (though it will be interesting to see) because people are a lot better geared, enchanted, and understand how to gear much better than they did before. People are speed clearing MC way faster than the average guild in Vanilla, and I bet most guilds will not struggle with Vael as we did in Vanilla, when it was a forum-worthy post.
I suspect Chromaggus will be the initial problem, followed by Nef (though even he will be easy since most guilds have enough Ony scales at this point to make everyone in their main raid two cloaks)
yeah, doubtful any decent guild wipes on vael. likely it will be firemaw that gives some guilds trouble. after that, perhaps chromaggus if you get a time lapse with an inexperienced group
