BWL and ranking were fun. I liked this phase

However my friend caught an erroneous 7 day ban for language (we all know that means something about the poorly conceived pvp “experiment”). Finding that out this morning caused me to log off as well. Imagine banning a paying customer for describing the state of your business.

Thanks for the miserable customer experience.

man, I am totally catching erroneous 7-Day bans for “language” (usually Portuguese) all the time. it’s just something that totally randomly happens to anybody at any time.

Maybe don’t insult the game and devs within the game itself, next time.

Shut up you apologist, the game is a dumpster fire. The least they can do is unban this guy for expressing his opinion about how bad the expierience is atm.

In my guild i had a mage, delete his character last night over pvp. He straight up raged soo hard cause of how bad it is to play mage that he deleted his character. Only recently it got restored and he was invited back to the guild. But it just goes to show how bad this game is that grown people with families lose their cool over how bad the game is.

People whove invested alot of time into their characters cant play the game cause its terrible

Yeah, cause he knew he could get it back anytime.

By literally clicking a couple buttons … sure showed them just how “mad” they were about PvP.

Might have more traction if they went full out and deleted their account. Then it might have had a smidge more of an impact on making a statement.

the game devs are terrible at their jobs and blizzard is a terrible company. Their products are lazy and poorly written, their customer service is on par with what you might get from a $68 hotel in downtown LA. They deserve the dissent and vitriol 100%.

I caught a 7 day once for a biden joke in av chat. The pink hair people do not play when it comes to their bias views.

Yeah, I just avoid talking in public channels as much as possible these days. The whole system is automatic at this point. Get enough reports for anything, you’ll eat a 7 day ban. Try to appeal it, you’ll get an automated response 4 days later saying it’s being upheld and refusing to even let you know what you said that ‘broke the social contract’.

Seems to be the way a lot of companies are going these days. Automate everything, reject all appeals, and refuse to elaborate on what rules were even broken.

EDIT: What’s crazy is seeing the system change in real time. Even back in Phase 1 of SoD, I had a guildie who only got silenced and not banned. And when he appealed it, they actually did tell him what exact things he said that earned him the silence.

Then, Phase 2, had a guildie who got banned for a week because his name “Massabation” was reported. Appeal rejected for a harmless slightly lewd joke name. But since when did Blizzard start giving out bans for reported names anyways? It used to be just a forced name change back in the day. Absolutely draconian.

Finally, here we are in the present and it seems every punishment is straight to a week long ban before escalating from there, no more appeals allowed, and no more even finding out what you were supposed to have said.

Crazy.

i hope people start quitting the game over this. Cause it has to stop and change.

Its a fing travesty

100% this and usually by the time you would get a non automated response even if your not guilty of anything the ban would of lapsed from how long it takes to go through apealling it.

I mean, its every game these days. There’s no escaping it. Every multiplayer game, every website, everywhere you go.

The way I see it, I’m not playing SoD because of Blizzard at this point, I’m playing it in spite of them. When my friends stop playing, I’ll stop playing too probably. When they start playing again, I’ll probably come back and play with them again.

Does Blizzard suck? Yep. But the grass isn’t really greener anywhere else.

why would he want to come back? lol :expressionless: everyone should just quit and wait for next seasonal, which will hopefully be better

Ya even when I saw people asking for help I would just whisper them to avoid using actual chat. Anything I wanted to talk about was either on my guild site or our voice chat

We had a guy just suddenly vanish one night I guess it was in phase 2. He mentioned they had force changed his name and eventually he made a new character with the same name. The name couldn’t possibly have violated anything… it was nothing even interesting. When he vanished it was because he caught a short suspension for using the name again after it had been changed. There were over 100 characters on retail with this same name and some were even active…

The guild this character is in took a break around June 12th. The idea was to come back for Phase 4 which was announced shortly after and only a few people came back. I wanted to play Phase 4 so I put my Warlock in another guild. That guild was a great guild… but it wasn’t my guild if you know what I mean. So I quit… thought about trying to play Phase 5. Logged in a couple times and the only people I knew were just in a only login to raid mindset so I finally uninstalled.

Even if they come up with something interesting after SoD ends… I don’t really expect to hear from anyone in my guild. which sadly makes me feel like it won’t be worth playing. Oh and my guild wasn’t really planning to take a break… everyone just got sick of the “developer direction” and decided it wasn’t going to get any better.

Dont insult the dev? What is this, an oppressive dystopian regime? Yea maybe people go a little too hard on the devs, instead of rightfully attacking the product they create. WE ARE THE CONSUMERS, WE ARE THE PEOPLE THEYRE MAKING THE PRODUCT FOR. IF WERE UNHAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT, WE SHOULD LET THEM KNOW SO THEY CAN CHANGE IT. Simple concept. Its basically tough love to pressure a company to work harder, try harder to make a better product. Is it emotionally uncomfortable? Yes, but everyone wins in the end. The product is better and the company makes more money. Capitalizm 101

I’m currently on a 10 day for the same violation.
“Abusive language” - With no direct quote or incident for me to go,
“Oh, yeah. My fault.” or anything.
Appealed it 2 days ago, just waiting now.
To be determined.

They do this on purpose
