Buying items in raid - yipee

In a mythic raid last night, 3/4 guild and the rest of us pugs. The only thing I need from the first four is the volcoras rare drop neck. It drops to someone else who wins the roll. I dm and say hey would you take gold for it? He says sure, I give him a fair chunk of gold and I have my mythic bis. Win win. I get my bis item I’m there for, he gets gold for something he didn’t want. I don’t care what he rolled need for, I would have lost to another ten people ahead of me. Sometimes I sell gear, last night I bought.

I did get DMs from someone who asked if I would offer it up to the next person who rolled highest, I declined. They said fair it’s not a guild run. “Equip”

He only rolled on the item so he could skim money by selling it to a pug.

True which means I got two rolls for the item :), first one free, second one cost gold.

Where there is demand, there will be supply.

He was also a pugger

was the guy in the guild?

man I’d kick that guy so fast his head would spin.

No he was a pugger, puglife.

oh well, that’s an even easier kick. people who roll need on items just to sell are slime.

He rolled on an item he knew he didn’t need in order to get money out of you. But I’m getting the vibe it was actually you who rolled on an item you didn’t need in order to grift off another player.

Or you can check out my inventory.

I don’t need to check your inventory. The fact that you’ve started a thread promoting rolling on gear by players who don’t need it and then charging other players massive amounts of gold suggests your motivation.

I agree with what you’re saying. I got my bis!

Cool story.

Better than winning it and just giving it away for free. At least he can make a few bucks now.

You don’t know if they didn’t need it.

They might have just decided they wanted a big pile of cash more than a minimal ilvl upgrade.

What’d you pay for it? And what item level was it?

Sounds like both parties left happy.

There is nothing wrong with selling something that is yours.
Happy seller, happy buyer.

this happens so often on classic too lmao…

someone that really doesnt need the item rolls on it and later tries to sell it… after people finds out the raid disbands due to one goblin…

Don’t worry OP.

People who don’t even touch anything above normal will rush in to tell you how it’s actually bad for the game to sell stuff in a Mythic pug.
