I’ll go crack open the ol’ piggy bank and get back to you on that.
imagine final fantasy style graphics on azeroth? ha!
Besides fifa and madden (madden got the lowest rating ever this year) ea doesn’t seem to have anything else. They are milking the sims4 cow to death and battlefield is DoA.
Final fantasy is square enix not sony.
If I had Bezos or Gates money, I’d buy them myself. I’d walk into the office, slam my hand on the table and say “make me a playable turtle with dragon powers!..” And insist on having stupid powers/items that nobody else has lol
Trading one soulless corp for another isn’t gonna make your game better.
Corporations in the gaming industry are slowly learning they don’t need to make quality products to make money. Consumer loyalty is all they need.
They buy out Developers with good faith, then workhorse them into shoveling out crap every year knowing their loyalist will buy that crap over and over.
We’ve seen it with EA and Activison, now Microsoft wants in.
I think people are seriously over reacting when it comes to Activision and Blizzard.
We’ve had multiple Blizzard employees come out and say, in very clear language, that Activision doesn’t control Blizzard’s games, with their latest statement happening in 2018.
For Blizzard, this is business as usual, because ever since they’ve held the name Blizzard, they’ve been owned by another company. In fact, they’d have been called ‘Ogre Studios’ were it not for their original owners, Davidson & Associates, who didn’t like the name and forced Blizzard to pick a new one.
So every game from Blizzard that folks love has been made while they were in identical relationships to the one they’re in now. With a corporation owning the company. But with said corporation more than happy to let them continue to do what they’re doing, so long as they make money.
The real concern is when Blizzard stops making money, because that’s when Activision will tighten the screws.
I would totally buy Blizzard just to nerf Demon Hunter to the ground.
But I don’t have any money. Soz lol
Absolutely true. There are many companies that are scum. I keep hearing praise for CD Projekt Red since Cyberpunk is all in the news. And they are notorious at pushing their dev teams into crunch and beyond.
On the other side however, I want to hold up Microsoft acquisition of Mojang. Lots of people back then cried and worried the sky was going to fall but its turned out great so far.
Only time will tell how this goes. I am optimistic for it.
Yea, CD Projekt Red has good consumer practices, but that comes at the cost of treating their workers like slaves.
It’s pretty brutal the stories to come out of their crunching. I’m pretty sure ethical corporations are something that doesn’t exist.
Didn’t Blizzard and Activision merge instead of Activison buying Blizzard? I don’t know how easy it would be to untangle them.
Activision and Vivendi merged. Vivendi was the owner of blizzard. However, considering the merged company name is Activision-Blizzard, I would assume blizzard will never be bought, even if someone had the money, and will be a permanent part of the company.
I’d buy that for a dollar!
Company names can be changed pretty easily.
And divorcing the company from Activision wouldn’t actually be that difficult, since Blizzard is as independent as a company can get while still being a subsidiary. They own all their IPs and they self-publish. It would require a lot of negotiation, and a lot of money would need to change hands, but it could be done.
Will it be done though? No. Because Blizzard is happy where they are.
Dead or Alive you’re coming with me!
Robocop has the answers to all our prayers and dreams.

a reminder
microsoft are the ones who forced microtransactions on us. microsoft are the ones who got rid of expansions for half done over priced dlc. microsoft are the ones who are killing used games and wanted to force always online on us. they wanted kinect everywhere to spy on us.
bethesda is dead along with all of their games at this point. it already makes me sick that i have to use windows still i will not own anything microsoft
Don’t give anybody any ideas.
Some fool out there might buy it just to shut it down.
and you think he would make this game better??
Stupid wild a** guessing time. Market cap for ActiBlizz is ~$60 billion. Given Blizzard Ent’s strong revenue base but slow growth (read as non-mobile), Activision Publishing would be the biggest chunk of that $60 billion with King and Blizzard making up the remainder. And since the sharpie villain at the top wouldn’t sell Blizzard for cheap, tack on some kind of premium. 15%? 20%? 25%?
So who is willing to spend $20-25 billion to buy Blizzard Ent? Microsoft? They buy studios to feed their XBox channel. And we all know that the biggest Blizzard ip isn’t on console.
