Buttons disappear from bars after logout

I created a time runner character (Tiffer-US-Wymrest Accord) after the pre-patch dropped. The buttons disappear from the bars every time I log out, and I have to re-drag every spell back onto the bars.

I have tried deleting the WTF/Cache/Interface folders twice and then completely reinstalling WoW.

It retains the Edit Mode layout I have set up, but just all the buttons disappear from the bars. I am using the MacOS client.

I cannot reproduce the issue by creating a new character – new characters seem to work fine/retain the button layout.

Any idea how to fix?

Thanks!

a file in the world of warcraft folders might have a read only flag that needs to be removed

read only means the file cannot be modified by a program or a game

Same problem here, but on Windows.

same here. please help!

Same, just resubbed after six months andwas looking forward to playing Pandaria. Between this (annoyance) and the Lost in the Woods bug, not sure i am subbing more than this month.

Same issue, though everything was fine until this morning, I was in the game adjusting talents and was booted from connection, logged back in and all bars were empty afraid to try and take the time to reset them because my wife tried 3 times to reset hers with no luck (and I just got her back to playing)

I am having the same issue but only on my WW Monk spec. My BM Monk action buttons persist but WW monk action buttons clear after relog.

Any idea which file?

Reinstalling should have reset the permissions anyhow, and yet reinstalling did not fix it.

I also looked in that specific character’s folder and all the permissions were set to rwx, so all should be good for that folder, but I don’t know if there are any others to check.

you can remove the read only flag from all items in the world of warcraft folders just in case there might be a permission problem that the launcher / game cannot modify any files. just clearing the read only flag on the folders will not work because windoze will reflag them
