Burst of Speed

I don’t know how often it’s mentioned, but I would really like this back on my rogue. They rely on stealth and shouldn’t have to mount and expose themselves just to travel around (in a timely manner).

Yes please. I miss infinite sprint. RIP.

Won’t happen. Too many people cried about it.

Get in line man, we all have stuff we want back.

we’ll be lucky if they don’t make stealth sub only in 9.0

I remember you could keep up with epic mounts i miss that ability.

you’ll be lucky if they don’t remove shapeshift

True facts right here.

Very valid point, a rogue should be able to move around the world in stealth at the same speed as ground mounts.

It is their main strength and are kinder on the back foot straight away when jumped straight away without stealth.

One thing ill say is once combat has started there would be a CD added to BOS, then once combat drops it resets.

Well another main reason Blizz implemented it in the first place was so rogues could actually catch up to enemies that are moving away from them. It was only useable while under stealth so I think that achieves what you are asking, doesn’t it? It also required 30 energy to use too, which was replenished quickly enough to where BoS could be maintained but you had to still time your attacks properly or else you would open up with very little energy.

If people really think burst of speed is overpowered when there are ret paladins and unholy dk in the game then they are seriously delusional

The priest is right and the druid is wrong. Give us back bos or we will start cutting.

Well we will start cutting, regardless, but if we get back BoS then we’ll make it quick and painless. Ok maybe not painless but quick. :joy:

I’m only posting on this char so I get notifications without having to keep switching

IIRC BoS was usable regardless of stealth. You could literally have 100% uptime.

I like Mynthi’s idea. Implement a CD while in combat. Maybe 8-10 seconds? Keep the 30 energy cost, or even bump it up a bit. Say maybe 40? Seems like a good option to me.

Also, this is Baddee from earlier in the thread.

Way to pick two of the least mobile specs in the game to try and make a point about mobility… like really?

Zombie wasn’t trying to make a point about the mobility of ret paladins and unholy dks, but simply referring to them as being overpowered. That’s why Burst of Speed was removed, because people were crying in the forums that rogues were OP. IMO, they’re far from OP. BoS was just a little “quality of life” that made them fun, but we can’t have that now can we?

Yeah, that’s right… been a while so my memory was a little hazy. I would go for your idea. I was going to just suggest that it only be usable while under stealth. Rogues still have other, tricks like Sprint, that they can use during combat.

Well to be fair, BoS was pretty OP in its previous form. Potential 100% uptime coupled with snare removal (iirc) is impossible to balance. I feel that if they reintroduced it with an 8-10 second CD, 30-40 energy cost, and it can’t remove snares that might be a bit easier to deal with. Maybe give it a condition that if you’re snared BoS allows you to not be reduced below 100% movement speed.

Yeah, I can see why it could be cause for concern but it could have been changed to not break snares and not exceed a set threshold, regardless of speed enhancing abilities rather than just be outright removed.

Oh I absolutely agree. I had a ton of fun with BoS and would love to see it return in almost any form.

I guess that’s why we see so many rets and uh dks dominating the ladders…

Then they made demon hunters, who no one can catch
