I defeat enemies that give me experience and it doesn’t seem to lengthen time time at all.

I can confirm this as well. Leveling a character I already had created prior to pre-patch, already decked out in full heirloom gear, whose level was squished to 17. I’ve hit 20 and none of the level ups have activated the 2 minute bonus time on kills while Burst of Knowledge was active.
[Edit] - It didn’t work for level 21 either. Leveling in Desolace, dinged 21, waited until the buff timer was ticking down so I could tell if the bonus would be increased on a kill, but no kills increased the buff. Playing as a hunter, but I’m making sure I am getting the killing blow instead of my pet. Definitely gaining experience per kill but without the buff extension.
Not sure if it’s working for others or not, or why it won’t function for me. Never activated Chromie Time, just leveling in Kalimdor normally like I was before the pre-patch.
It works for me, but the extension of the buff is so meager that it’s almost laughable. A kill extends it by another 20 seconds or thereabouts. The flavour text gave me the impression it would extend it to the 2 minutes again, which would actually be an incentive to keep it going. As it stands now it’s very unwhelming.
