Building a PC for Shadowlands

Hey everyone! I am looking to build a PC for Shadowlands, I want to take advantage of the downtime of the release fully to construct a nice rig to enjoy the future expansion and so on. This is what I’ve come up with so far.
AMD Ryzen 5 5600x (11/05/2020 EST release date)
Includes a CPU cooler
X570 MoBo compatible w/ AM4 AMD socket
Nvidia RTX 3070 (10/29/2020 EST release date)
Samsung 980 PRO 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD (already obtained)
Mid-tower case (already obtained) Rosewill Cullinan PX (red) ON SALE
Power supply unit (PSU) 600-900W easily

I understand this is a bit overkill for this game (future-proofing). Provided I cannot obtain a RTX 3070 / AMD Ryzen 5xxx series processor, do you have any other recommendations?

WoW goals:
60+ FPS on 1080p, 1440p, and so on
Discord or some kind of raid voice chat in the background
YouTube in background
Netflix or another streaming site in the background
ETC.

I was also told that Intel CPU’s were the BEST for WoW, but it seems like Blizzard is now welcoming AMD with open arms. I was leaning more towards AMD since they do support PCI-e 4.0 (which benefits my GPU and SSD the most) that I would build an AMD processor PC over an Intel.

Other GPUs I was looking at:
RTX 2060 (includes the Super model) - Double the price of a 1660
GTX 1660S - Seems to be the best value per dollar spent
GTX 1660Ti (within $50 of the 1660S)

Intel CPUs I looked at:
Intel i3 9100F
Intel i5 9600K
Intel i7 9700k (My personal favorite)
Intel i9 9900k (~$100 more than the i7 9th gen)

Ryzen CPUs I looked at:
Ryzen 5 3600X
Ryzen 7 3700X
Ryzen 7 3800X
Ryzen 9 3900X

Gaming Peripherals
Definitely need some recommendations on some parts
Monitor
Keyboard
Mouse

Monitors I don’t have any specific brands/models in mind. I was thinking a 144Hz, 1ms, 1080p/1440p+ monitor that’s around 24-28".

Keyboards I was considering a Corsair K95 Platinum mechanical keyboard

For the mouse it was a toss up between a Corsair Scimitar or a Logitech G-Series

Blizzard may vouch for Intel and Nvidia, But IMO AMD products perform just as well. I have been using AMD CPUs and GPUs since about 2005. I do not seek the absolute best in graphics. So I can’t really answer about GPUs. I have paid little attention to Nvidia’s products.
The 5 series of AMD and Intel has always been a solid CPU for gaming needs. Going for the 9 series is overkill IMO. I’d suggest 32GB RAM

How many monitors do you plan to use? I use two Acer 22" wide. One for WoW and the other for various things. Usually streaming of some kind. Asus and MSI produce some nice gaming monitors.

As for the mouse, keyboard, and headset. I am all Roccat. But it is hard to suggest some since there are so many with a variety of extra bells and whistles.
Headset: KAVE XTD Analog
Keyboard: Horde Aimo
Mouse: KONE Aimo

Short order here.

Most budget hardware will satisfy that, and it doesn’t really matter if you get AMD/Intel AMD/Nvidia as long as they are the correct parts. Regarding resolution, GPU will matter more here.

Caveat - when a lot of stuff happens on screen, a faster single-score CPU will make your minimum FPS better. Doesn’t really matter how many cores. Wider resources (to a point) help mitigate overhead cost. But any quad core chip with hyperthreading should manage your workload fine.

As far as videos and stuff on a separate display, it will depend on what is happening on those displays (what kind of encoding, etc.) and sometimes a wider CPU will help, but sometimes it doesn’t matter and you will have negative effects anyway.

yes, you list various CPUs and GPUs (some half the performance of others and some yet to be released to the market) so I’m not sure how cemented you are in your performance objectives or timeline. I also don’t see how PCI-e 4.0 would benefit your GPU since the highest performance one you have is the yet to be released RTX 3070 and how PCI-e 4.0 would impact your gaming.

Also a 900w PSU is way overkill for the RTX3070 since it’s doubtful you would even break 400w gaming with any of the your potential systems.
