you don’t need a 750w power supply for that build, not even a 650w unit and gold is not a quality assurance of a power supply

yes and it will be completely over priced, what date do you need this PC by? If you can wait a month (or more) then that would be your best bet for price and performance. With many PC parts out of stock or over priced you may be better off going with a pre-built if you need something now.

Unless things have changed. $1000 budget wont cut it. Mechanical Engineering use a lot of autocad and things like that. You will need a 10 or 12 core CPU. So you are looking at the 10850k would be the closest CPU to your price range and that alone is about 400$ The minimum one I would suggest for CAD would be the Ryzen 5800x and thats going to take some serious shopping around to find one at MSRP. Unless you can find a good used Ryzen 3900x for around $300 on ebay.

I’m sure pugent has some autocad benchmarks for CPUs.

I can wait

Honestly there is nothing cheap about your career path. Id honestly wait for the Ryzen 5900x to be easily obtainable. Its your best bet and an INSANE value for your $$$. If you are going to do a build? Do it right. Spend a little more upfront and have it last you the next 6years or so. Instead of doing a subpar build now only to redo it in a year. You really want the 5900x for autocad. I bet you will be able to get one is March
