I love the evoker, but it is STILL so buggy, which makes it extremely unloveable at times. I started with the evoker as my main but went back to Monk who is leading my IO chart atm because of…
Disintegrate sometimes sits there, unusable and off cool down. You’d have to find a different skill to press or wait literally 1-3 seconds for Disintegrate to function again. Now, this only occurs when Disintegrate becomes functional after acquiring 3 Essence. This doesn’t take place any other time outside of that. Disintegrate works perfectly fine off of procs, only when (now this is only sometimes) you acquire 3 Essence is when it decides whether it want to work or not.
Eternity Surge goes off at the incorrect level. Or it doesn’t go off at all. And then it also sometimes go off (by the sound it gives when it does go off) yet no damage is done and Eternity Surge is not on cd either. If this repeats itself right after this 1st malfunction, you’ve already lost somewhere between 2-8 seconds of dps depending on which level you’re casting the skill at just trying to get this friggen skill working. If you play M+ like me, finding 2-4 second window to cast has its challenges. After so many times seeing this, and not being fixed, and knowing this effects your performance - everytime you step into a dungeon - there’s only one answer, you just gotta move classes. ANY class as a matter of fact that’s always been tried and true and that doesn’t also come with an insane amount of bugs during battle.
Fire Breath goes off when you want it to cast longer to achieve a higher level. It then also doesn’t go off early when you intend it to.
Anyone else have these issues? I cast by “pressing, holding, then releasing”. I do not play the “tap twice” method of channeling
It is insane to me that we have several (what I would consider) major bugs that affect our performance and moment to moment gameplay and they still haven’t been addressed, not even a post letting us know they are aware and working on a fix.
I feel your pain compeltely. I started this xpac on devastation because I wanted to play something different and in a role I normally don’t play as I’m typically a tank or melee player. Sadly, the bugs and gameplay design caused me to drop it like the 3rd week of the raid and go to my fury warrior for progression. I do intend to go back to it as my main for the rest of the xpac, bugs be damned, but it’s frustrating to see so much attention to preservation while devastation is left in the dark.
It’s clear the devs had amazing ideas and synergies for preservation since it’s a well designed and fully fleshed-out spec, but it seems like they just kinda threw crap at the wall and went with whatever stuck for devastation. Don’t get me wrong, has the bones for an awesome spec, but there are some conflicting designs with its current gameplay and the bugs on top of those issues certainly didn’t help matters. The fact that the poster child for the xpac has major disruptive gameplay bugs that haven’t even been addressed or discussed is appalling. I get they supposedly fixed some of them, but it seems only the pyre bug was actually fully fixed.
Anyways, here is my list of changes I’d like to see, at the very least, without a complete overhaul. I’d appreciate you checking it out and providing feedback. I’d love to use the post as a creative platform to get the devs attention and hopefully get some fixes, adjustments, and gameplay continuity for devastation going. I love it when it works, and when I have hover up, but without hover in non-fully aoe scenarios, when you have the bugs, or when you run into ranged issues, it really does suck the life out of the spec.
