Bugged Shadowmourne Entry Quest: The Sacred and the Corrupt

Just wanted to stop back and say that after a few days of waiting, the GMs came back and completed the quest for me, giving me “Light’s Vengeance” and allowing me to move onto the next phase of the quest.

Issue: Cannot progress quest.

On my warrior, WarBringer, as I approach the Frostmourne Cavern at 73,24 in Dragonblight, the Deathbringer Remnants despawn and I’m supposed to trigger a cutscene as I approach the “Light’s Vengeance” hammer. But instead, I walk into the cave and there’s a ton of ghouls everywhere and an invincible Vrykul named “Vegard the Unforgiven”. Nothing else in the room can be interacted with and the hammer isn’t there.

I’ve tried dropping the quest and taking it again, I’ve logged in-and-out. I’ve turned off my add-ons, I’ve tried toggling war mode, I’ve searched for groups to try on a different realm, but no one is creating groups for such an outdated quest that only 3 classes can do (not to mention, if theirs works, they can one-shot everything and they’ve no need for a group).

I’ve had an open ticket for days with in-game blizzard support, but so far nothing has proved fruitful. GM Pyro (Europe) has already confirmed that the quest is not working as intended. They’ve asked that I repost here.

I understand that you are having difficulties in progressing “The Sacred and the Corrupt” quest. I know how important this is so I will try to provide the necessary information for you in regards to this quest.

Thank you for your ticket as we can confirm this isn’t working as intended.

There is a possible small workarround that may or may not work. To do this, try switching the to War Mode or out of it, if this doesn’t work, try joining a group from a different realm.

If you tried these and still does not work, please let us know so we can assist you further.

I recommend for you report this as a bug on the in-game menu. That is the best way to get this fixed, as it is sent directly to the developer team.

Keep in mind that you wont get a response from the incident report but I can assure you it is being reviewed.
