Bugged quest - Through the shattered sky

Just returned from cataclysm and boosted my DK from 32->50 and bought shadowlands base edition.

I cannot progress past the quest ‘Through the shattered sky’ as in the frozen throne room there is nothing to interact to progress the quest. All the NPCs just stand there doing nothing and I can’t interact with anyone or the shards. So I can’t progress at all in shadowlands.

Put in a few tickets, suggested I party sync to fix this. A kind stranger did this with me but whenever it synced he was on the correct step and I was not. I.e he picked up the quest before this one (a chilling summons) and when party synced, the portal and NPC would disappear for me. When not party sync they reappeared and I could enter to the icecrown citadel.

So we tried to party sync instead just before you enter the throne room, he could enter the throne room with all the NPCs and he could interact with bolvar to progress the quest. Me on the other hand, when party sync I step through to the ice crown am greeted by alot of ghouls running around trying to kill me lol.

Just got a response from GM saying it was fixed and to abandon the quest and retake. Not sure they even know that I can’t abandon the quest, I cant re-pickup the quest and I have 0 quests in my quest log for some reason.

I also boosted another char on another server using BFA booster I had (I bought BFA but never played it) and for some odd reason also bugged out at the exact same quest with the same conditions.

Clearly my account is bugged or whatever and now not sure what to do.I really wanted to continue playing my old chars but if I can’t even play shadowlands (after buying base edition, 3 months sub + char boost) and after talking to GM 3 times they can’t seem to tell me whats wrong or offer a genuine fix I am kinda annoyed.

Also I bought shadowlands through blizzard website I still get the ‘upgrade’ button on char select and the option to buy shadowlands again at full price! I thought since I got the base edition I could upgrade to heroic edition for $30 AUD but it will cost me $90 AUD for some reason.

So yea if anyone got any advice that would be cool else I’m go the route of trying to get a refund and moving on.

if you’re seeking a refund, i’d suggest ignoring the upgrade prompt.

Just an update, forget refund it ain’t happening lol.

So after 3-4 tickets, a GM tried to load me into the maw but I ended up back at Stormwind. Can’t go through portal anymore, it says ‘You must have expansion (Shadowlands) installed to access this area.’

So obviously the game for some reason thinks I don’t have the expansion when I bought it a week ago. I’m sure they will sort this out for me and it will be fixed.

yea im having that exact same issue rn, is there really no way to fix it other than waiting?

I am also having this issue on my Shamman Yeetzi on Thunderlord, I cannot go any further with the quest or enter any of the maw content or covenant storyline. Such a sad feeling…

This account is stuck in limbo after a party-syncing during the main quest, I cannot progress further. Very sad day.

I just went through the same problem today, and it looks like they fixed it. There is a portal in stormwind keep stairs that get you into shadowlands.

I have just encountered this on two separate characters. Bolvar says his last line of dialogue before offering the quest, then nothing happens. Glad to see such an old bug has not been fixed. Will update when I receive support
