Has anyone her ever done a blizzard customer support ticket of asking blizzard to complete certain quests & if so how many tickets / responses did it take?
There is a lot of DF quests that are bugged for me that I can’t complete & I use an addon called “All The Things” making it impossible to reach 100% completion as someone who likes to collect / complete everything.
Thanks for your responses and feedback as I’m hoping Blizzard will give me a nice helping hand.
I had to do one a year or so ago for one of the BfA related quests in Uldum, was a well known bug and even WoWhead recommended making a ticket. I put the ticket in explaining everything, even the WoWhead post and they took care of it for me and I was able to continue with the chain.
Perfect. Thank you for this information. This is good feedback knowing that there is a possible chance. The only way to find out is to make a ticket and see what their response is.
If they decline it, then I’m going to escalate my ticket into explaining that I can’t finish the quest on any account or a new wow “3” as an example.
What quests are bugged, and have you read Wowhead comments for a work around?
There is only a very small handful of quests that Support can assist with. They can only help with ones that Devs have given them the okay to, they cannot just complete quests willy nilly even if they know it is bugged.
If they forced it through for you, when a bug fix does roll out, it could break something even more on your character.
If you haven’t, submit a bug report in game or on the forums in the bug report forum.
Edit: just to be clear, I’m the world top 4 of quests completed on one character. There is almost always a work around if something doesn’t seem to be working right. There has been three or four quests (and one of those was actually recently hot fixed) that required an intervention. It is exceedingly rare they are able to provide help like you are asking for.
They will give you a wowhead link and then when you tell them you’ve already tried all that they tell you to come here and file a bug report and then that is that. The end. xD
They are first going to reply to you with a template to check Wowhead, to make sure you’ve actually tried to complete the quests with those tips.
If you haven’t tried what’s listed on Wowhead in the comments, then you’ll need to do so.
I have done all of the main campaign several times now across several characters since DF launched and I’ve been able to fix the very few bugged issues I had by doing what the comments on Wowhead told me to do.
If you’re running into a lot of “bugged” quests… that sounds more like an interface issue and I’d suggest disabling addons and doing a full UI reset.
You cannot escalate a ticket. You can re-open your ticket if you don’t get the response you want.
But Blizzard will not give game hints and that’s what quests fall under. If it’s a known issue they can bypass (which is rare), they might reset it for you.
I have had to ask for help completing removed quests, like one of the Ulduar quests where the questgiver was moved/removed in the retrofit for Timewalking.
I had to do that one other time, but I don’t remember what the other quest was. In both instances, completion was physically impossible for me, because the questgiver was removed but the quest was not.
I have also twice had to ask for quest items to be restored–the Medallion of Karabor and the ICC ring. The GM who restored my ring acted like it was a pain in the butt, and not something they like doing. I feel like quest rewards for legendary chains should be exempt from the ‘having to do work’ attitude, but hey, I’m not a GM.
The Medallion of Karabor was really funny, though, because the first GM was either dumb or really tired, and the second GM was great.
“Hey, GM, I got MoK from a quest and I need it for the next quest, but I’ve deleted it. Can you get it back for me?”
“It is not needed for any quests and I won’t be doing that.” [closes ticket]
[reopens ticket] “OK, but it is needed for a quest. For the quest that I said I needed it for.”
Different GM: [rp’s as a bronze dragon and gets my MoK back from some bandits] “Sorry for the trouble. Have a great day.”
They can only complete quests for you if the Devs have said specifically that they should do so. Other wise they are hands off, make sure you check wowhead as someone might have found a work around for a quest you have trouble with.
I had found some quests would bug out if you did part of it while mounted or different silly things like that.
The few times I have had to contact support, they wouldn’t help even if it was a bug and was instructed to try what wow head suggested which even included wow head saying that they could fix it / complete it. The fact that blizzard relies on 3rd party companies to give instructions / fixes to their own game amazing’s me about how customer support and quality control even exits in the company.
I do remember once though a GM got on my character and did something to it and my character was invisible to mobs for like a month until I finally died. Was best fun I had in Shadowlands as it was a permanent stealth even if I attacked NPCs until my stupidity caused me to fall to my death.
You can 100% escalate a ticket. I have done several amounts of times. So that’s incorrect. Wherever you got that information from or experience is definitely someone who doesn’t want you to escalate.
