Bugged ignite damage on chromaggus

Last night I talked with a few people right after this happened, and no one can give a reasonable explanation to why.

Link is to Warcraft logs for a 30 sec snippet where I casted 4 scorches 1 fireball and 1 fireblast that did normal damage but the ignite did nearly 100K damage…yes 100k, not a typo. This was 2 minutes into the fight and I hadn’t casted a single spell outside of decurse prior to that point. The below graphs show the just insane spike damage that that can not be intended from a grand total of 21k damage.

I just can fathom this being intended.

It’s rolling ignites.

If you are the only one with ignite then yes the dmg is odd. If all your mages have ignite though then they all get stacked in one dot and are counted for one person which is what im guessing happened and you were the lucky soul to own the ignite during fire vulnerability.

The fire vulnerability increases your damage by 3x, this 3x applies to your direct damage and then again to your ignite tick damage. So the ignite is essentially getting increased twice but the fire vulnerability. Here’s a video from 2006 of a mage getting a 10k-11k ignite tick with only 3 ignite stacks.
