Running lots of M+ these days using a bear. Find it’s pretty easy to lose aggro, which is rare case in 9.1.
Is there anything changed in between, or could this be a bug?
I was running PTR. I think the aggro problem is also existing on PTR, but 4 pcs made more dps, so it was not obvious.
Probably just a dps imbalance since the damage output is tuned for when everyone has tier and double lego. I havnt really notice many threat issues, it might be a little lower though.
I assume you are running pal.
In another forum, there’re other bears having same issue. So it might be affecting bear only. or just because pal has more damage, so less affected.
Damage classes scale faster than tanks generally. There’s also the possibility that they have 10 ilvls on you if you’re not running a bunch of keys.
Most likely the quality of players are better currently that you are playing with. Last tier I had threat issues in high keys if played with good dps. Currently most tank classes have issues with threat except palla, Warr and 4 piece monk. You just have to active and generally pull the next pack as your dps are killing the remainder.
Only aggro problems I have are when DPS don’t follow marks… I generally let them die…
Brambles talent is good for aggro and adds a surprising amount of DPS. Wild Hunt Tactics and First Strike from Night Fae Koryan soulbind are also great for getting quick threat on the pull.
I run with friends, they are similar ilvl to me, including weapons.
I don’t think people here are talking about heroics/mythics where you need to mark priority targets, but high keystones. Doing huge pulls as a bear is risky atm because everyone is doing AoE massive damage (40-50k+ dps), and even with Incarn it’s a struggle to keep every mobs on myself.
Thanks for your advise, but I’m not asking how to get more aggro. I didn’t change my playstyle since 9.1, so I don’t think it’s my problem.
I’ve been having slight issues as well. Random mobs will agro onto other dps.
I suspect is has something to do with the soft aoe cap and dps bursting without giving me a GCD to gather agro
I’ve been tab taunting to handle it.
I’ve noticed that getting/holding aggro is a little bit tougher since the patch as well. The start of the pull was always a little dicey on my bear unless I had a CD to blow, but now DPS are pulling even through Convoke, and it seems significantly harder to get aggro back if I don’t have Taunt available. I’m not sure it’s a bug though. I assumed their DPS was just out scaling my threat.
It does feel dicey at the moment. Bear dps feels quite low (raw damage for abilities) so DPS popping CDs early can pull things.
That said, the 2 piece set effect is quite handy for mini thrash-spam incarns.
