Trying to switch between gnomish and goblin engineering. The “Book “Soothhsaying for Dummies”” doesnt allow me to select a spec after unlearning gnomish.

Bump, BTW im hated with steamweedle cartel because of going for the insane title so i cant talk to the goblin in gadget to learn goblin from there.
Having similar issues. the “soothsaying for dummies” just takes your gold to unlearn but does not then give you the option to choose a new specialization.
Thats goblin engineering for you.

Same issue here, looks like a bug
Found out how to work around it.
First drop your current engineering at the book in tanaris (dont know if you need to do this or not but i did you can try and do step 2 first and save 150g)
Next go back to the npc that gives you the quest “show your work” for either gnomish or goblin and complete that quest again (you most likely did it in tbc or classic already
Lastly go back to the book in tanaris, unlearn current spec, talk to the book again and you should see both options to choose goblin or gnomish.
