[BUG] Shaman :: Totemic Projection

Update: Repeatable. Place Windfury Totem, move a little and cast Totemic Projection to pull the totem in. If you then place a new Windfury Totem, it will no longer be affected by Totemic Projection.

Sometimes totemic projection doesn’t work - When I’ve noticed it not working, I’ve tested at various ranges. It’s off the gcd, so I tend to spam this in my macro in an effort to not have to spend extra GCDs replacing Windfury Totem.

This is a massively annoying bug and needs to be fixed.

Yup very annoying, its now working properly like 4/10 times.

It moves some not all or it will move none. Almost tempted to just unspec out of it knowing its ilke 60% chance to fail

Bumping this. Totemic projection is a useless talent point if it does not do what it says it’s going to do. This is pretty upsetting.

I found what the bug is… if you replace your current wf totem with the same totem then it will fail most the time to project. So I’ve been force removing my totems then casting a new totem and then projecting and it works every time.

I play resto, so no wf totem. Ways i can get it to fail

  1. Jump then cast TP
  2. spawn totem then cast TP immediately

The point is… you casting the totem to refresh the totem without the original totem despawning first. My guess is that Totemic Projection is trying to move the original totem and not the refreshed totem

Bump, still happening a lot!

Bumping this tread

Solution:

  1. Get this Addon off curseforge: Destroy Totems
  2. Create a macro with the below for casting WF Totem:

#showtooltip Windfury Totem
/click TotemFrameTotem1 RightButton
/cast windfury totem

It works! Thanks a lot man!

Thanks for the tip. It seems like my other totems are now inconsistent (Healing stream + Wind rush). Is there a specific macro needed for these as well?

EDIT - I noticed if you spam the macro, it deletes your windfury totem. I doubt there’s a way to fix it since its on the GCD
