Bug Information:
Update: I just used the same portal and it put me in middle of sea again falling endlessly. Couldn’t even use Unstuck Character Service as it doesn’t fix the situation. Tried other portals too now and same problem is happening.
I just used my Mage portal to Stonard as was on my way to kill a world boss for WoW Anniversary event quest. Upon using the portal I was placed in the middle of The Great Sea between Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms.

I’m having the same issue. Used the Stonard portal on my mage, and now I’m stuck falling in the middle of the ocean off the west coast of Silverpine (I never seem to reach the water, so maybe I’m just floating in mid-air). I can’t hearth, I can’t portal, I can’t use the logout function. I had to shut the game down. When I logged back in, I was at the inn I have my hearthstone set to.
Just used my own mage portal to Stormwind and was ported into a falling expanse of nothing for five minutes. Quit the game and loaded back into the Shimmering Expanse with half breath gauge gone!
Hearthstone worked thankfully.
