Putting Olakin Back Together Again quest in Icecrown is bugged. I cannot see the thread or butcher’s knife in either correct room. It could be a phasing bug since a lot of people are in Icecrown doing the prepatch event. This is the last quest line I need for Loremaster of Icecrown.
Icecrown is phased during the event. It’s a safe bet that most quests won’t be doable until Shadowlands launches.
Same thing here. Tried Chromie Time and also tried at max level. At max level I tried dropping quest, but now I can’t even pick up the quest and Olakin is present by the quest giver for “Putting Olakin Back Together Again” so something funky is definitely going on.
This is really frustrating since Icecrown is the last zone I have before loremaster outside of Shadowlands.

Yea my friend and I are having the same issue with this one when we try to complete this, we’ve tried exiting chromie and abandoning the quest, which was suggested in a ticket I submitted. No luck though 
Confirming that I have also been unable to complete this quest due the spool and cleaver not spawning.
Confirmed not working.
confirmed this is a phasing issue with the quest. Once entering the cave you revert back to the original state of the area and not where you have progressed in the quest.
Confirmed by zooming through the cave on the flying mount and watching Spool of Thread disappear as phase reverted back.

Having same issue. I get phased out as I enter the cave. Last part I need for the loremaster in IC too. Sad day

Sadly having the same issue. One of the last places I needed for my Loremaster as well T_T Is it worth submitting a ticket or should we just wait till after the launch of Shadowlands?

I doubt a ticket would do anything. It’s not really a bug; it’s how the developers chose to implement the pre-patch event.
AFAICT, you have two choices: wait until the event is over, which is (as you say) SL launch, or find someone who hasn’t started the pre-patch event (by doing the initial quest) and group up with them with party sync. Icecrown will be normal WotLK for them, and syncing with them makes it normal WotLK for you as well, for as long as you stay partied. If all you need to do is turn in a few quests, that’s probably not much of a burden if you can find the help.

Event is over and quest items still do not spawn when entering the Sanctum of Reanimation. Looks like a phasing bug as mentioned before
