Bug -- Magi's Spark

I opened a bug report, it has been there for many months. Could the rest of the mage community confirm the bug exists and submit the report?

Magi’s Spark states it will copy the three spells at 100% (50% for PvP), so your next Arcane Blast, Barrage and Missiles.

It copies Blast and Barrage fine enough, but not missiles. Only the very first initial hit of missiles is copied (so if you clearcast and fire 8 missiles, ONLY ONE will be copied). Is this intentional?

To quote the old titanic lady its been 84 years… But yeah thats a known bug that theyve never done anything about essentially since forever.

I can’t imagine it’s intentional but it’s been like that for as long as I can remember. They have never gotten abilities, like TotM, that copy damage right. The internal calculations are always off somehow. One time in SL TotM was doing so much damage when it went off you could visible see the HP bar of bosses tick down massively. And then at other times it barely did any damage at all.

I wouldn’t even opposed to a bandage fix, copy the initial arcane missile hit 8x (hopefully it crits!).

It’s just, for a capstone talent, it feels really neglected.

By “spell” they mean the first bolt of missiles. There have been so many interactions that have failed us because they won’t count the whole channel as a single spell, but rather the single first bolt is their definition of a “spell.” I’ve always been frustrated by it, and it’s always been broken that way. We just accept it and play around it, but if you can get them to fix it and treat the entire spell as a spell, I will vote for you as “greatest mage player ever!”

Most capstone talents are neglected and very underwhelming. And that’s across-the-board too not just with mages. It’s one of the greatest failings of the talent system.

But, I just tested it today and, it is fixed. It sure as heck wasn’t a few weeks ago…

So, maybe a stealth fix? Cause the DF fix was for arcane echo, not magi’s spark echo. If I recall correctly.

Please make Magi’s spark a choice node with Radiant Spark. Nether munitions is not useful to an arcane mage and nobody ever takes it (or ever will until it is redesigned)

Magi’s spark is good for someone new to playing, but it is basically invisible and barely does anything for an experienced arcane player.

Radiant Spark was removed to reduce complexity. Many of us play arcane FOR the complexity. A ‘fix’ like this is like adding chocolate to vanilla ice cream because chocolate ice cream sells more than vanilla. except you lose all the customers who will just buy a different brand (i.e. find a different game)

Radiant spark being a quick single target burn on a 30 second timer filled a part of the kit in M+ (boss has about 30 seconds left, big pack next. The current arcane build doesn’t really have a way to do good damage here (100% execute is crap when your base damage is really low already))

It also felt really cool and gave great feedback while casting. I felt like I was crafting up a spell. Now the ramp just feels like a waste of time and is awkward. That “crafting a spell” feeling is lost with Spark. It added a dimension of skill expression as well
