I’ve been meaning to make this post for a while, but the Gyrofreeze is not preforming as it did in original Vanilla.
It does in fact correctly reflect Frost Spells such as Frost Bolt etc, however, when it comes to Hunters Freeze Traps - it is merely making you immune to being frozen instead of freezing the Hunter.
In Vanilla, when you use the Gyro against a Hunter whom drops a Frost Trap (The one that freezes you), it’s meant to reflect it back at the caster.
This is the same for Mages that cast Frost Nova, it is not impacting the Mages at all.
I am happy to provide Video evidence of this working in original Vanilla.

Apparently this no longer reflects hunter traps…what a shame…

Subject: "hm"is this nerfed or something at 1.10? when i duel huntrs i only resist there trap, i dont trap them

…not only that (no, it won’t trap the hunter), it also doesn’t work against frost nova. Possibly a random element has been added in, or it’s bugged, but I couldn’t get this to work against FN in about 8 goes - you simply get frozen as usual.

not any more, tried a bunch of times, although it wont freeze you, it will not put them in their own trap anymore
The paladin that replied to you is linking to comments made during patch 1.10 about frost nova and comments made during patch 1.12.1 about hunter traps.
Blizzard nerfed ice reflector to not apply to frost nova at 1.10 and nerfed it to not reflect hunter traps in 1.12.1.
Since classic is a reflection of 1.12.1 mechanics, ice reflector is working as intended.
Thanks mate, but does it specifically state that? Because it makes you immune to the trap instead, therefore implying that it does work against traps - just has a different mechanic
no it doesnt specifically say that - but it is true to 1.12.1.
I think they should just allow it to reflect the trap like it was for most of vanillas life, but ya know - no changes cause of idiocy and stubbornness.
