On three toons of mine (maybe more) that are 60 or above and have profession gear equipped in the appropriate profession slots, I have noticed the ‘buff’ icon for the toons profession being present upon logging into that toon, as well as the gear visuals being present. On all of my toons, several months ago, I had spoken to the appropriate NPC to have my profession gear show up less often. The three toons I have specifically noticed it showing up on were two of my druids with mining (which it has been happening on for several weeks), and just now, my warrior with tailoring (this is the first time I’ve noticed it on my tailor).

As stated in icy-veins:
If you’re not a fan of the look of Profession Equipment, you can hide it by talking to an NPC in Valdrakken.
Seek out Mahra Treebender in Valdrakken at 31.5 64.6. The NPC has 3 options to hide Profession Equipment.
- Hides Crafting Profession Equipment and only shows the tool while crafting.
- Hides Gathering Profession Equipment and only shows the tool while gathering.
- Hides Fishing Profession Equipment and only shows the fishing rod while fishing.

June 1, and this bug is still happening. I log in on any toon that has Profession gear and it’s always there.
I guess our toons just really want to get back to their jobs and stop all this pesky warmongering? ::shrug::

This is happening to me too on nearly all of my characters. It seems Cooking gear and Skinning gear are the most common ones to appear, depending on what professions my character knows.
For example, my mage is a Tailor/Enchanter and when I log her on, she loads in with the Cooking gear.
My monk is a Skinner/LW and she logs in with skinning gear equipped.

Same, started logging in wearing profession gear out of nowhere. Only happens to one character, but all of them have profession gear equipped.

Even if I can hide the equippment with the NPC option, this shouldn’t be necessary since I have not crafted anything.

I don’t want to completely disable profession equipment. I like the idea of my character putting on appropriate stuff when crafting.
It’s undeniably a bug that causes my Warlock to have the Fishing Equipment buff (and appearance) upon every login, though.

Also happening to me and it drives me insane. The game does not care that I went to the NPC and told them I didn’t want profession gear on ever - it still logs me in with profession gear equipped, and still dons it whenever I gather an herb.
