This is really odd. I have a dracthyr Warlock at ilevel 21 and decided I wanted to boost it to 70. However, when I tried to use my boost, the system would not allow me to boost a current dracthyr warlock character but would allow me to make a new dracthry warlock character?
This is really idiotic. Can’t boost an already created one but can create a new one of the same race and class? What’s wrong with this picture?
Bliz you have some really messed up bugs.
You want to double check the limitations that block a boost, such as token in possession, applied glyphs, or even using another character service in the last 72hrs. Also make sure you’re logged into the correct realm as the character, you can change that on the top right of the character select screen.
What error are you getting? Did you try to apply that boost to the new dracthyr or just create one?
If you’ve checked (and double checked) the limitations you can put in a purchase failure ticket.
Here’s the purchase failure ticket path.

This character is my Dracthyr Evoker but I used my hunter above to create this posting.
I did check those support limitations and none of them apply. Situation when I tried to use the boost token, which I did purchase and receive, did not light up the character as available for using it. I did not have a token in my bags, bank or mail, I did not have anything else listed either. No glyphs, and had not used another character service either.
I created a new warlock last week and used a dracthyr as my race. I played for a while going through the beginning questlines to choose the area I wish to level in and finally got to the point where I was able to start my garrison and even getting some level 1 buildings built.
I used the same realm I always use and had not swapped to another. As for the “error” as you say that I’m getting, no error was evident, only the fact that the character I chose was grayed out similar to my level 80 characters, but all my other alts that ranged from level 1 to level 50 were brightly colored as being available to use the boost on.
So the question still remains, why? Oh and there was not a purchase failure because the boost token was readily available for use.
What is truly odd is when I could not choose my new warlock, I decided to see if I could actually create a new one. Well, to my surprise the system actually allowed me the ability to create a brand new character of the very same class and race that my current level 21 happens to be. So the question I have about why is a valid one considering this oddity.
Current character chosen: dracthyr race and warlock class
System offered me the ability to create a brand new character with the very same characteristics, but would not allow me to use the current character to boost.
So my question still stands. BTW I finally opened a ticket to see if I could get this mess addressed. Unless Bliz has changed their boost limitation to include anything that is not currently written in the current limitations, I have absolutely no idea why this is happening.
The character boost system and the character creation system aren’t really related. It’s not a problem of “can I have/boost a Dracthyr Warlock” instead more of “why is this specific character not working”. So the fact you can create another Dracthyr Warlock and apply that boost isn’t surprising.
Did you open a ticket using the link I provided above? This still falls under Purchase Failure since the product you purchased failed to work. It has a higher priority queue since it involves real money.
You mentioned you are now past the starting area, but you weren’t there when you first tried were you? I know races like Worgen and Goblin have to get past their starting zones in order to boost.
Anyway, good luck and hopefully you get a ticket response soon and solves whatever is preventing it.
