I am making this post in regards to the Retribution Paladin talent “Blessed Champion” , aswell as our Heartfire Sentinel’s Tier 4 Set Bonus.
The talent being “Crusader Strike and Judgment hit an additional 4 targets but deal 50% reduced damage to secondary targets” - and 4 Set Bonus “Hammer of Wrath now hits 4 nearby targets for 20% of it’s damage.”
These two are both working as it is intended in combat just fine, but I have been experiencing for months now when trying to pull a single mob with judgment, or even at times when in combat with several mobs be it in world or dungeons that I will at some point use when using Judgment or Hammer of Wrath that these effects here will strike out at mobs I have not engaged, be they passive mobs, or otherwise, even in some cases pulling bosses in dungeons as I battle with a set of mobs before them, while having no target on these other mobs whatsoever.
Is there any plans to fix these two effects and make them only apply to strike out at other mobs that we are in combat with, and not simply be as they are now, almost a sweeping effect, pulling anything and everything infront of us, just because the mobs are there?
Its just a little irritating to have to be basically be restricted from using judgment to pull a single mob to me if other exist around it, and instead having to run over to attack it with a melee attack if it is a passive mob, and pull it away to fight with it, because using either of these two single target essential abilities, be it Judgment or Hammer of Wrath to pull the single mob will instead pull it and any around it, or if I am in combat with a single mob and use either can and will pull any others around it, because I am using these single target essential abilities.

This bug has been in effect for months now, is there any plans to correct it, or possibly redesign this completely random and bothersome effect from not just pulling anything and everything around us that we had not even targeted, or engaged with?
Any possible input on this bug and or design to these abilities? Its rather frustrating to be in combat with a mob, and use an ability that is an essential to my character’s play…only to have it inadvertently pull more enemies I had no interest in engaging, or was anywhere near to aggro, but had this almost cone effect added to this originally single target abilities now pull them just because I am in single target combat and they happen to be off in the distance.
ETA on seeing this addressed somehow? Possibly, only make the Judgment and Hammer of Wrath strike at the mob you are targeting, and those up to 4 additional attacks that are fired off to only be done so at mobs you are either targeting or are engaged with in combat?
For example, the Divine Toll ability, when used on a passive mob standing in a group of passive mobs, it will only strike that single mob you have targeted and used the ability upon. This would be the way I’d believe both the multi-target Judgment and Hammer of Wrath would work, only striking out at mobs you are in combat with , rather than just anything around you, even things off to your side that you aren’t even looking towards with it’s spread of attacks.
Could this possibly be something addressed in the upcoming 10.2 patch?
Still hoping to see this “issue” or poorly designed aspect to this all too wonderfully essential of a benefit that we Retribution Paladins have bestowed upon us…which I am sure will become a basic aspect to the way our judgment is designed as a multi-target cleave to debuff more than a single mob per pull, if not will be sure to be coming in the near future to us as a talent we can simply spec for, when this tier bonus is nolonger part of our play.

Hey, Blizzard:
This is still happening constantly. Almost lost a big key because of this.
